My father had a recording of this picture on Betamax.

Of course, the cassette is in poor condition, so it's replaced with a DVD copy.

This film was produced by an Italian production company with an Italian actor as the lead (Terrence Hill is a pseudonym), but American actors were, of course in the film as well (Ernest Borgnine in the supporting role and Marc Lawrence as the antagonist).

The picture was filmed in Miami, Florida; the grocery store in the attempted robbery scene is a Publix.

I feel we're all part of a real life Close Encounters where people from all over America remember seeing this movie but just aren't sure if it was real or a collective hallucination on a massive scale. For years, I keep thinking I've seen Super Fuzz and I keep thinking I loved it. Now it all makes sense. It was 1981 and my family had just gotten cable and it was the only movie they played.
