  • ive been makin this dip for a long time and i made it almost the same way. i use canned chicken just when i feel like being lazy about it or ill buy just a rottiserie chicken from the dili at the grocery store. i cook my ingredients in a sauce pan on the burner first and then transfer to the casserole dish to bake. it looks like it all turns out the same so maybe next time ill try it with just the oven.

  • Who in there right mind uses ranch dressing with anything called buffalo chicken. You should be using blue cheese in place of the ranch.

  • Great recipe. I use less cream cheese because I don't like it (maybe 1/2 the amount) and it is perfect!

  • @nish12pere Really any "Buffalo Wing" or "Hot Wing" sauce would work. Or just a cayenne pepper sauce.

  • Just boil the chicken until not pink in the center. you can also use canned chicken but I dont recomend it myself.

  • You should try it in layers too, real good.

    From bottom to top:

    cream cheese

    shredded chicken mixed with hot sauce of your choice (i prefer anchor bar sauce)

    cream cheese

    cheddar cheese

    This would then be heated in oven.

  • See Im not a fan of Franks. Whats the ratio of butter and hot sauce to make the traditional wing flavor? I can never seem to get it right in large quantities.

  • i use like a quarter of a stick of butter and some crystal hot sauce

  • Crystal is good too. Mine just seems to always come out a bit too tangy and hot. I guess I always seem to put a bit too much hot sauce in the mix.

  • well on the bottle it says a half stick of butter and a cup of hot sauce but thats way to mild for me i use a cup of hot sauce a qaurter stick of butter and a third of a cup of ground cayyane pepper

  • 1 cup franks to 4 tablespoons butter (4 tablespoons of butter makes 1/4 cup of melted butter) -- so the ratio is 4:1

  • i use pretty much the same recipe... i soften the cream cheese and spread it on the bottom of the pan, boil the chicken, dice it, add hot sauce, butter, mayonnaise, and good blue cheese dressing, mix all that together poor it over the cream cheese then top it all with mozzarella. when the mozzarella starts to get a little brown take it out the oven and eat it before someone else does
