This is only a glitch if the nodraw_portalable texture managed to find its way somehow into the game and since I sincerely doubt this, this must be custom made.

It's a texture glitch, there is no texture, and when it doesn't render a texture, the protal "sticks" to the background wich is a void. There is nothing there in other words. Try noclipping out of a portal level in gmod and you'll se tha same glitch.

@zaiope95 actually what happened is the maps use certain areas called 'area portals' (unrelated to portal because they're in half life 2 as well) which calculate what to show when you pass through them. this is used to make a level run better. because it's only showing certain areas that you're in.

if you go through one at the wrong time or skip though it, a large chunk of the level forgets to render, and this is the result.
