Completely agree with Availablelight1. Same exact experience for me. Hold Your Fire was a big part of my teenage years. It was also the album that turned me into a Rush fan. It's still my favorite album of theirs with Time Stand Still being my favorite song of theirs.

Hold Your Fire was probably THE seminal album of my late teenage years... along with Signals and all of the other 80's RUSH albums. I hate that so many fans wrote them off in this period. The Guitar work was f***king brilliant... My biggest influence by far as a player of 27 years. These albums were so emotionally and spiritually charged... very coming of age. The production was a little thin, but the live shows were amazing... Thank god they released "A Show of Hands".

It's been my favorite for many years. I don't find it to be the "perfect" Rush album, because the songs turned out way better live than in the studio, but the songcraft, ambiance, and lyrics from HYF are amazing.

But again...trying to pick a favorite Rush album is hard. I love them all (from every era) for different reasons, depending on the mood I'm in.

Picking my favorite Rush album is hard, indeed, but HYF is the one I would pick with many albums being close seconds, in my opinion, but I truly can't pick my favorite song from Rush, but I love 'em all, so you know I can proudly keep it at that :P

Rush drummer/lyricist Neil Peart is a big Twilight Zone fan. This shares the title with a famous Twilight episode # 57.
