another verse>...with the engine roarin' and the tires smokin', i got the Lord and i ain't joking, standing on the dashboard of my car....i'm going down the road at a hundred and twenty but i ain't scared cuz i got my buddy , ridin' on the dashboard of my car.... :O) peace,
Actually the flaming version was a cover also. The song was made popular in the old movie "Cool Hand Luke" with Paul Newman. But the song was older than that.
I'd love to get a mp3 version of this cover. Perhaps it has limited commercial viability, as it is not for sale on itunes; nonetheless, it is a great version of the song. Thanks for sharing it.
I have kind of a big question for you Mr. Lytle. You mention in some of your other videos that Jason plans on coming out with a new album soon. I was just wondering if you could maybe provide an estimated time period as to when it will be in stores for us fans? Thanks for all the great videos and your time.
Jason did this song for a very good friend of ours who totaled his truck and survived the accident. His nickname was the Reverend so mentioned at the end of the song. I just needed some video that was similar.
that explains the song :) tought what i don't get why they smashed that truck. was it just for fun? something like that you don't see it everyday, not around here at least... and doesn't that is what doesn't make much sense to me
anyway, it's always good to get new videos from you
the plan was,he was supposed to swirve and miss a stuffed animal in the road for the video but he ended up flipping the car on accident. that's what both aaron and jason told me anyway.
Actually the song was written in 1957. First time on a record in 1962 by the "Gold Coast Singers". Album, "Here They Are". Has been covered and added too many times since.
Some may think their Jesus is just made of plastic.

Grandady and Jason Lytle sorta reminds me of early Marcy Playground. But much better, and much more touching and moral/message filled.
