anyone rember gumbata joe rotolo on the radio? AT his sign off he would say to his wife over the radio on Sunday afternoon, "Put the pot on for the maccheroni, I'm on my way!", what great memories.
No one in this lifetime or any lifetime hereafter will ever duplicate this man's voice. This is a virtual impossibility. I thought Jerry Vale had a great voice, and he does, but Jimmy is in another dimension.
There is no voice, past or present that can beat Jimmy Roselli. His incredible voice & his Neopolitan heart that comes through in each song he sings is unbeatable.
Luv ya Jimmy, you're the best that ever was. Jo Calabretta
@KentuckyJet Jimmy Roselli is an icon.I firmily believe that his voice should be put in a time capsule so that every generation from here to eternity can experience this.
Never have I heard anything this chilling. There are no words.
I remember growing up listening Jimmy Roselli every Sunday on the "Original Italian Hour(s) after church and as the meatballs and sauce were being cooked. My mother loved him and went to a few of his concerts at the Westbury Music Fair on Long Island. This brings back many great memories!
I followed him all over NY to hear that voice. Thanks Joe. I remember a song of his called Beggar in Love and don't recall what album it's on. Any ideas?
