I watched this movie for about my 15th viewing this week. Great soundtrack, great sets, great editing. You don't have to be Japanese to relate to this film. It always (no pun intended) evokes nostalgia every time I see it. I'd forgotten that when I was a boy they still sold block ice. Man, I feel old! Ha Ha Ha.

I like this movie, too. It was my first time to see it at Shangri-la, Eiga Sai 2010. This movie is heart-breaking in a therapeutic way. I felt so alien yet so sensitive to how emotions were conveyed. Really the best movie I've seen. I can't wait to have my own DVD copy.

@TheStrangeBen hey you should also watch the original film. the one shown in the eiga sai this year was part 2. i saw this movie last year, first time in eiga sai, it was really beautiful. of course, the part 2 is equally great. :))

i just watched a while ago...i was so touched and moved by the film..its very inspiring..i laugh a lot. i smiled a lot and i cried a lot..but most of all it pierced my heart my being...i hope others can have the chance to watch this one of a kind film..many thanks to japan foundation for staging this especially the eiga sai 2009.. hope to see more...thanks for the people behind the scene and the actors and actresses they were really great! You Rock!
