Actually if BRED to be T cup/Handbag etc etc which they are NOT they are all TOY then they have in the mian shorter lives BUT if just a small one from 2 normal adults (which sometimes happens then all ok in the norm :) I dont know what applies here :)

Cute little baby! I have a little female, one of my own puppies that is 3 1/2 years old and weighs 2.5 lbs. She is 5" tall at the shoulders. She is in perfect health. I don't "overbreed" my yorkies to get tiny babies. My male (6.5#) and female 6#) have always produced tiny pups (usually 2.5 - 3.5).

Yup she's cute, but she will also have a million health issues. Live a shorter life, and die in horrible pain. The only thing you can do is love her so her exsistance will have subtance until then. I hate to be the negative nancy here about it. But those are facts of forced small breeding.

@LiaTheShySinger It's very possible. But without obviously seeing the puppy when it happened I couldn't tell you. What I can tell you is that forced small bred dogs have a host of issues. Like collapsing trachieas(sp i know), hip displasia, blindness, 5 yr average life span (dependant on breed and living conditions), chronic tooth decay, and under developed senses. These type of dogs are not this small naturally. And when you force breed them to a smaller size, you shorten life

@LiaTheShySinger But it also depends if yours was a forced breed dog or not. A yorkie in itself is not prone to these conditions as a whole. And it could happen to any dog for any reason. But if they are toy (typically but not definitive) or teacup. That size is not normal, and therefore have issues. So because she was a small breed? Most likely not, unless she was a teacup/mini/toy. Like this one.

Sorry, she IS cute but people who encourage the overbreeding of yourkie to get mini's, teacups & micros are cruel. I had the chance to get a "teacup" for cheaper than what I got my Loki for and I paid more for a healthy, HAPPY NORMAL-sized 4.5 pound yorkie (his adult weight). He's a happy, healthy spoiled baby & has never been sick. Most teacups die in a few years. It's sad that we as humans have to have everything made specially for us, and we underbreed these dogs like this!
