Thanks for the vids seems like an awesome machine. I do suggest you try a Garrett ProPointer and also wondering why you didn't use a towel or bag for hole dirt earlier but did at the end.
I tried these settings on my v3i but I don't have (or I can't find) a menu labeled ground filter and so I couldn't set it to 10 high or recovery delay to 45. Also you said "Search Audio". Is that the same as "Audio level/ Tone. Do I have older menues? I just bought it 2 weeks ago. Also, at these settings when I go to pinpoint I can hardly hear the audio.
2 weeks isn't enough time to learn all the settings on the V3i. I assure you every menu I used is there. All the selections on my "live" options were taken from the expert menu. It's every adjustment one might need to make in most hunting situations. Hang in there! Good luck and happy hunting!
Generally I always have a bag, but I don't always use it except in situations where I want to save every bit of dirt for backfill.

Try switching between discrim. and pinpoint to help determine trash items.

i wish discrim also worked when you pinpoint because a lot of times i get a good signal and accidentally pinpoint a nearby piece of trash
