So i have a GO-PRO HD cam and im just sort of confirming this. so i put it in to final cut just the normal way nothing is really HD and then i do what you say and it should become HD because i did that and it was only 240 P so i stupidly deleted the vid right away thinking it didnt work. but so if i wait like 9 hours the quality will rise oor? i guess i dont really understand it because couldn't any camera upload be put into hd then?
I did exactly what you said, and once it had finished converting, the quality it terrible?
I haven't uploaded it to YouTube yet for this reason, but I was just wondering, if I upload it, will YouTube put it back to it's original quality or will it just look even worse haha?
awesome, but will this file size be huge? and will it play slow since its so large?
also, ive got all my settings in FCP as ntsc anamorphic b/c i use a dvx100b... I am editing something with a small hd camera, can i just log and transfer the clips and it will automatically change my settings, or do i have to first change capture, sequence and other settings to something?
@sGxCuRSeD I've been having the same problem. I use Final Cut Pro for effects, but put the whole video together in iMovie. My camera shoots 720p, but when I export the video out of Final Cut, it seems no matter what settings I choose, I get black boxes on various sides of the screen. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? This is killing me!
Technically, no it doesn't, but upscaled SD played back in HD honestly looks like shit. You can see examples of that in a few of my videos, where iMovie '09 gave me an option. Try not to, as you'll only get comments back about how everything looks great, except the actual video. So yes you can, but it's not recommended.
HEy Mitch I did everything you said and when and while I am sitting here waiting for it to upload it takes forever and never gives me the bar thing to say its almost done? Anything I can do? or anything you can do to help. Also I moved the one(Baby sheep story) to imovie and loaded it to youtube but it WAY to big... And I dont know how to fix it. Help would be appreciated Thnkz
Well when i send it to Imovie and upload it from that its fine as you can see now that the movie is up... Yet I do not think it's in HD... Is it? Thanks for all the help BTW
It seems that I am always getting a "trying to reach server, please wait" text in the upper left hand corner when I try to play my vid, is this my internet connection or a problem when uploading the vid.
Also, why does my HD vid seem like it skips and is very slow.
must i have an HD camera for this because the videos are pixellated in a manner where many parallel lines are off during movement is there any way to fix this?
Yep the process should be the same for any camera. If you cannot import the video file into iMovie make sure it uses the correct format you may have to convert the video.
dam i know i aint stupid im doing everything your sayin and still not gettin hd on my pg. im using fcp studio 2 and doin my settings the way you say smh.
It is a little pocket camera for going out, and was totally blown away by the quality of the video. Its actually my mums, so i need to get one for when i get back to uni grrrr lol.
Thats cool. I got one for Christmas but its a piece of crap. I'm going to exchange it and I'm lookin into it. Does it sync well with the Mac OS? Any problems?

I have clips color corrected, some keyframing, a stills in the timeline. I've tried copying the whole timeline on a new project....
Everything renders fine, I really don't know what else to do.

@DeathsArcher He left out the size. Its the 3rd button down called SIZE you need to select 1280X720 HD. Then you'll have HD video.

horrorshow87 3 years ago
You have to give YouTube about an hour for it to be HD (sometimes longer, depending on how busy the server is).
When you first do it the quality will be low
mitch625 3 years ago
i gave it 6 hours and only 'high quality' appears
i must have done something wrong :(

Once the video is uploaded it wont be in HD straight away. You have to wait about an hour before YouTube allows it.

Yep the process should be the same for any camera. If you cannot import the video file into iMovie make sure it uses the correct format you may have to convert the video.
If it records in .mov you will be fine.

mitch625 3 years ago
Hey Skimz as long as you don't use the flipshare and upload the raw file of the video, you will get the watch in HD option.
