@ra86226, @lizziefan84, @reginafelangie What’s presented here for laughs as arrant snobbery and sentimentalism: “full of French beans and Brussells sprouts” .. “We grow our own vegetables here”(previous episode) ...“It’s like leaving our home Czechoslovakia in ‘39” ..
Is actually very important and good sense...Largely about the organic attachments of one's natural community, destroyed by allowing priority to money/socialclimbing and foreign displacement.
Why didn't Mrs. Poo ask what was Audrey's name while having tea? I realize it would have wrecked the storyline of the rest of the episode but logic would dictate Mrs. Poo introducing herself and then asking "what is your name?"
@lizziefan84 Class, and the demonstration of such, is not living in the past. Sadly, far too many people have become comfortable behaving in a crass and vulgar manner.
It might be nice to see an updated version, that retains all the class of Audrey and Marjorie.

The very serious basis of Great Comedy.

Lizziefan, we don't all live in the past - plus, this programme is now the wrong side of thirty years old...

This comment has received too many negative votes show
I love these british shows, I can't stop laughing at their ridiculous customs - all they do is live in the past.

Is there something missing between part 1 and part 2
temporaryidforutube 4 years ago 2
Audrey says "Very well, duty comes first" that is all that is missing between the two parts.
