  • I want this video on my W213 phone.

  • Weird, I can't work out why people clean the registry when they don't know exactly what the registry is all about. I bet if I ask each one of you in here what they do and why, I get mostly blank looks. Of course there are tutorial guides online about the registry but how many of you actually studied them? I never use registry cleaners and they are a waste of time.

  • I have never had Ccleaner cause any issue's and I have been using it for years.

  • I'm wondering where are the racist kind of responses.

  • The above solutions will most likely fix and answer your question why is YouTube slow on your computer. However, it is highly recommended you follow all the? guidelines especially optimizing your PC Windows for internal registry errors through a top registry cleaner like RegInOut.

  • @topwing93 I'm in the US and I still have to watch the F ing adverts.

  • CCleaner is a handy tool. However I use "Kingsoft PC Doctor" a lot lately, it's a complete free security utility including registry cleaning, malware removal module etc. You can google Kingsoft PC Doctor for free download.

  • cc cleaner !!!1 its save and good stfu geek you dowt know shit

  • this is an informative video, thanks

  • Seeing those errors in CCleaners are so tempting, it just screams out delete me!!!

  • @TheDelosDinh I feel your pain

  • ccleaner the best one too use

  • cool

  • most of the cleaners are fake anyway

  • @lockergnome HOW COME U HAVE LINKS TO UNIBLU REG CLEANER ON UR SITES. I HAVE USED CCleaner 2YRS NO PROBLEMS. ALSO I HAVE READ SOMEWHERE THAT IF REGISTRY GETS TOO FULL IT CAN CRASH UR COMP.

  • Advanced system care typically works decent as a registry cleaner, and as an ad-ware/spyware remover bonus ontop of that.

Of course it has the free and paid versions, which do virtually the same bloody thing so. why pay?

  • I've used registry cleaners and really nothing happens myself I love them.

  • Eusing Registry Cleaner and Glary Utilities are good... :o

  • Never had a problem with a registry cleaner but thanks for the tip.

  • 34235235234523423 pc problems? 1 question.. if the PC have so much errors/problems how the hell it works? =)

  • @ErIkOsSsS look at how all he has is 234 and 5's, Clearly someone faked a number to look impressive on youtube.

  • Is this program good for reparing files that causes BSOD? like nv4_disp_dll **

  • Is this program good for reparing files that causes BSOD?

  • @calinbest what is the BSOD?

  • @ErIkOsSsS BSOD=Blue Screen Of Death

  • @calinbest thanks!

  • @colinh25 microsoft's onecare live you can use it at onecare(dot)live(dot)com/site/en-us/default.htm this is the only registry cleaner that i 100% trust that it wont ruin my system as so many before it have!!

  • there is only 1 registry cleaner that i 100% trust and that is microsoft's windows onecare live located at onecare(dot)live(dot)com/site/en-us/default.htm

  • there is only 1 registry cleaner that i 100% trust and that is windows onecare live located at onecare(dot)live(dot)com/site/en-us/default.htm

  • @colinh25

I use Ccleaner and my computer has never had a problem :)

  • thanks alot yourshow helped me alot in computers especially how to protect my privacy on starbucks etc...

  • Why bother spending 6+ hours over a 3 year period, when after 3 years you can perform a reformat in less than 3 hours...

  • @Netrex44 what to use?

  • ccleaner is good very good its a amaizing program my computer is faster now

  • i use CCleaner ALWAYS and im fine :D

  • my registry cleaner tells me which things i can clean safe and which not so i clean the safe thigns the unsafe not :-D btw my pc is rly fats but i want it faster so i still use rrgistry clean but it dont get much fatser becuz of 200 regs i c an only clean 50 safe and 150 unsafe all my registrys are at hkey :D but never knew it destroys my pc D: i used it at my old xp itwas freagin fatser i had 2000 regs :D!! but at my new 7 i dont want any more im scarred >:(

  • @Netrex44 if you woudl justs hit on my chest we could be friends

  • i used CCleaner on my old vista machine with no problems bit with my 2 day old HPdv4t Boom!

5 min boot times with window explorer screens totally empty, no icons at all!

booted in safe mode and scanned, no viruses. had to to a clean install and lost some current vids.

AVOID REG "CLEANERS" LIKE THE PLAGUE! they will destroy your comp!

  • The best registry cleaners are...Free Window Registry Repair,Eusing Free Registry Cleaner, and ABEXO.I tried COMODO and it erased my Realtek Audio.CCLEANER is nothing Compared to IOBIT 360 and Advanced System Care.

  • @20lbsledge I've had the best optimization with these. One thing is for sure you will get a full registry again every time you play and online game or visit IMVU and load your inventory on the client.

  • @yull15

    Lol why do you care

  • ummmm bs do yall create computers umm i dont think so leave this up to the microsoft makers to talk about it most of these geeks just use linux

  • I have never seen any speed increase after cleaning the registry either. Windows is a hog anyway and slows the computer unlike Linux which works differently. Thanks for the information. Some items in the registry do cause error messages when a program or more has been deleted from the computer and the lines pertaining to them are still in the registry.

  • Some do clear your browser history. And in other news, them things took my 7 year old WinXP and made it FAST AS HELL! all my programs still work, btw.

  • u suck of making video put the downloaod link and example on ur computer(no 1 interest with ur face and only if u are artist,or doesnt 1 other ppl see ur passordetc)

  • u cant say that....i use registry easy and my pc run better.

  • you measured the difference?

  • i use norton for that

  • I poured hot soapy water into my laptop and it didn't clean any registries. in fact it just stopped all together

  • I've been a computer tech for 11 years now. And IMO, I wouldn't completely believe this guy. Alot of registry cleaners out there don't do a good enough job, and they're a waste of money. But there is free cleaners that do a better job. And in my experience, it's better to have a fixed registry than a destroyed one. I can't even count how many times people have called me and some of their problems were due to bad registry entries. Don't buy new hardware like this guy does to fix windows problems.

  • If your registry was really broken then you wouldnt be able to boot into Windows.

  • wow

  • What if your just erasing "Internet Explorer History"?

  • So should peeps not use ccleaner at all, or just not the registry cleaner tool part of ccleaner?

  • i have used advanced system care, and it has worked flawlessly in many of my PCs

  • used to work in a repair shop, someone told me to use pc tools. I tried it several times on customer's computers and it seemed to clean them and I don't think it caused any problems.

At least I don't recall customers yelling at me.

it has an undo feature, you can download it and use it fee for 30 days. Again I'm not promoting this software just passing along some info.

  • Nice video. I seem to spend ages telling people to leave registry cleaners alone. But very few tech sites actually talk about them.

Registry cleaners are the Acai berries of the computer world.

  • dont install. it has a virus. my spybot search and destroy detected it.

  • This quy promotes PC Pitstop program that cleans the registry what a hypocrite. Registry cleaner do make the pc's run faster. I have no idea about what the other noob what talking about reinstalling windows every 3 months this video is full of loss. You can backup the registry before deleting any registry keys and see the results for yourself.I don't know anyone who has the time to reinstall windows with all there windows every 3 months what an asinine comment!!!!!!

  • well you might just end up having to reinstall windows if your system becomes un bootable from a registry cleaner accedentally deleting system configuration data

  • just defrag

  • its regdefence cleaner it save to use?

  • its say some not all...

  • Besides people not knowing what they are doing with the reg cleaner part of CCleaner how is CCleaner bad? I read everywhere and people saying it is good for removing trash on your system I dont get how thats bad.

  • only bill geitz can clean without any damage

  • Sorry Chris but Windows has to access the registry constantly and the less it has to sift through, the faster it is. Sounds like a lot of noob talk since you don't even seem to know what a registry is used for. Also who in the heck reformats these days? Any knowledgable PC buff will tell you to use a drive image like Acronis.

  • Wow, so that's why all the techs from Geek Squad to MIT suggest you format the drive and reinstall windows from scratch? Because every single one is a noob?

  • Because it's easier for them to say that than it is to explain how most of these mainanence programs work. I can't believe you included employees from Geek Squad. LOL! The guy that tried to fix my mothers computer was an idiot. I had to do it for her. Best Buy rejects. Besides there are many areas of computing so just because you have a degree doesn't mean you specialize with these types of software. Experience over training.

  • What about someone like me doing PC repair/support since 1989? I've had clients hire me after they had run "cleaner" apps, incl ccleaner, that removed critical files and reg entries their PC actually needed. Half their programs stopped running. I was able to repair most of the issues w/o reinstalling windows, but docs deleted from the CSC folder (where offline-synched files are cached) were unretrievable using unerase programs (overwritten "deleted" blocks). So thanks CCleaner, I need the work!

  • (a) I assumed you would be able to comprehend when I said "from Geek Squad to MIT" that I meant "from idiots to geniuses" not that those credential-free cosplaying retards were a good standard for computer repair.

    (b) CP is an inexperienced noob? .. um .. you know, .. it's just not worth the effort.

  • piracy.......... try it

  • they do speed up ur pc but it depends. ccleaner, auslogics, and tuneup are the best. regcure, regclean, registry easy, and regmedic are rouges or PUPs. Potentially unwanted programs.

  • Honestly i've never had any issues with any registry cleaners one I remember costing $40

  • 44.5 F? hot?

  • I dont know why you are saying Registry Cleaners dont work?

They obviosuly do or else why would they make and promote them, seriously be realistic.

Take a look at my videos for a Registry Cleaner that backs everything up incase something does go wrong.

I personally bought a Registry Cleaner for my laptop, works wondering. It found 393 errors on my 3 week old laptop.

CHECK IT OUT IN MY VIDS

    OR

    regace,info

    replace the , with a .

  • Well hello shill.

  • Ok they sell so well because they do technically what they say they will - to remove an unspecified amount of potentially unneeded data from the registry, without the sellers being responsible if anything goes wrong during the process.

You have a 3 week old laptop with 393 errors on? I would get a refund if I had that happen to me.

  • Comment removed

  • how do u save te settings in a notepad file and ... the other thing is how do u export the registry to bak it up ... thank you for any help u can give

  • you can use regedit then go file > export to save registry backups.

  • i spent i dont know how much on tuneup utilities 2009 and its getting uninstalled! (im upset)

  • how can ir egistry error withut damaging my pc reply please

  • how can you get what?

  • Hmm, I dunno. I've used reg cleaners to fix a few nagging error messages so I think they do have some value. Of course, I always set it to make a automatic backup before it repairs anything.

  • I used the Auslogics one on my HP DV5 and I lost the ability to create recovery disks and I had to reformat my Vista to get it back! I agree with Chris Pirillo: Don't use that kind of software... EVER!

  • Tuneup Utilities 2009 and Auslogics Boost Speed 4.4 do a excellent job with repairing and cleaning the registry. It improved my boot speed drastically and speed up mu PC since I had OVER 9000 errors in the registry. And that's not a joke... I rely had more then 9000 in total.

  • Are you really going to beleive that?

  • Yes because they rely do the job. Since that comment I upgraded to Tuneup Utilities 2010 and Auslogics Boost Speed 4.5 witch have made my PC even faster. Don't underestimate them before you try them.

  • I tried them some time ago and it made my programs think they weren't installed properly. Diddn't notice any speed increase either.

  • Dono what to say... Me, my cousin and a friend of mine use both programs and we all noticed a significant increase in response time and in speed overall. Neither of us had any problems with other programs not running properly.

  • quit being a fuckin pussy never backed up anything for 7 fuckin years and i'm always fucking around with it so fuck u u nerd

  • what about regdefense?

  • I just let TuneUp Utilities do it's thing....

  • Yea Ccleaner crashed my hard drive caz i thought its work but it ened up fucken my computer up BIG TIME

  • This is why inexperienced people shouldn't click next next next when you're dealing with one of the most important parts of the windows os. Anyone should know you can mess things up in the registry, that's why you have to read through and uncheck what you want to save. e.g. the keys which windows depends on.

  • @tymanndavis13 What? Fuck, are you serous? I am experiencing trouble with windows 7 freezing a lot, at startup e.t.c. Now I remember that I started having those crashes after cleaning my registry with ccleaner! Is there a way to fix this without reinstalling windows? Please tell me. I didn't make backups

  • Some problems with registry cleaners is some important file extensions are removed, so be careful. They may change the whole settings of your PC.

  • eusing reg cleaner is good

  • i wonder does cleaning registry remove error registry or does it put back where it suppose to be. cause i might afraid harm my computer.

  • I use CCleaner. It's not done anything to my PC at all, and I do find that it speeds my computer up.

  • So, what about utilities like Diskeeper, that defrag the registry, and/or resize allocated space for it? I no longer use Diskeeper, but I know a lot of you stand by it.

  • OK, CP i rip on you prolly more than I should, but I am so glad you and the troops took the time to straighten people out about the evil and dangerous snake oil that is registry cleaners.

Registry cleaners were garbage back in the 90's with MS's RegCleaner, CleanSweep, and everything else like that. You want a clean registry, reinstall Windows! Period!

Huge props to Kat for calling the devil by it's proper name!!!!

  • Got the same PC since 2005, I use regularly registry cleaners and I've NEVER had to reinstall my O.S..

I DO NOT agree in doing a complete reinstall every 3-6 months unless you spend all day installing and uninstalling programs.

Registry cleaners are like any other program, just use common sense and u'll be fine!

  • There is a chance that after running a registry clean certain programs might not function properly though.

  • so many registry cleaners on the market today - most do wonders on the pc

  • You're awesome. "My advice if you're going to get a registry key cleaner, don't!" :) I love your vids. Subscribe to this man.

  • i used registry cleaners then programs in my computer stopped working. dont use it..

  • The man Speeks the Truth!!!

  • what i heard was that a big regitsy makes your system slower. i noticed with "mv reg cleaner" that i find files keys of flash drive files that i can remove everytime i eject my flash drive. within time this list became around 315 keys so i decided to remove them. nothing bad happened. if there's a key you don't want to remove from the prompt..don't check..it..logic doesn't work for you?

  • mcafee had it built in so i mean i trust mcafee to find errors only, but my trial is running out and this makes me feel better about not being able to delete the registry

  • Registry cleaners really works great on my machine. Thanks!

  • Nice try. Spamming here isn't going to fool anyone.

  • cause i have a good processor , a quad core q6600, a 4870 and a windows XP SP3, but the problem is that some times my internet explorer is too slow

    .@

  • so, what can we do to speed up our PC and to put ur internet explorer more faster.??

  • Upgrade your components?

    Get a better connection?

  • Thank you for this video. I was just researching for a registry cleaner. But I wanted some reviews. Everybody said RegCure and yet they didn't give enough info, nor would they give a price. I found ComplaintBoard and everybody wrote how bad RegCure is. I then did another search and found this video. I will save my money! I appreciate your knowledge, thank you!!

  • I ran registryfix on a dummy laptop (with no Internet connection for security reasons) with a fresh installation of Windows XP SP2 Professional. Registryfix found 165 problems. Yeah right.

Have you ever wondered why the only reviews you'll find about registry cleaners are from affiliate marketers? It's because no-one, other than the shady affiliates themselves, would claim those products do anything useful especially on a Windows XP or higher machine. Registry cleaners are snake-oil.

  • I use Ccleaner. Never really had a problem with it.

  • I use cleaners only had one bad experience, but that was restoreable, good ever since then :P

  • I have used Ccleaner for years and have had 0 problems. I think all this crap about reg cleaners being dangers is Ehysteria.

  • just because some one got a good registry cleaning dont mean that it will work for the next 13 billion in the world i shall never trust them what so ever

  • im using registry mechanic atm

  • Use registrybooster 2009. It work pretty well. correct my problems..

  • problems like what?

  • Well, if my fast computer got slow all of a sudden, what do I do if defrag did nothing? I am not a geek & have limited knowledge. I need to find that fast speed again.

I have XP home, Charter high speed cable.

  • Although extreme, i would reccomend backing up important files onto some CDs/DVDs or external Hard drive, and perform a fresh re-install.

    Guarantee of a fast speed.

  • CCleaner and Advanced SytemCare my favorite cleaners. Now all they have to do is get CCleaner work with google chrome and ill be happy.

  • it does harm on Vista. Digeus registry cleaner is only one who works properly on vista.

  • ccleaner FTW cleans the registry and asks you if you want to backup your registry before it scans your registry and does more then just scan your registry

  • i just do a disc cleanup and defragmentor now and thats working

  • you can back up your registry some programs can

    back up registry

  • REGVAC the best!

  • regcure is supposed to be the best and iv never heard of it ruining anyones computer

  • yes its actuaaly fake a.k.a doesent work

  • wrong... It works great and it saved my computer.

  • regvac is better at cleaning messed up system settings

  • saved your computer from what?

  • I've tested Digeus Registry Cleaner,

    very nice tool.

    I do reccoment.

    digeus,com

  • LOL @ ads

  • I have used Ccleaner on all 5 computers in my house and It hasn't done anything to them exacept make windows more stable

  • I have had the same experience. My house has 3 vista machines and two xp machines and ccleaner has worked on all of them flawlessly.

  • The last registry cleaner you used was from windows 98, and you advise people to edit themself? Your a wee bit wrong here dude. Ask your parents to buy you faster computer and roll it down to your basement, great advice.

  • RegVac

  • Hi I have question. So if I'll do System Recovery and clean my Hard Drive it Should Help? I have external hard driver With programs redy to instal if ill use them is it gonna slow my computer back?

  • Right, yeah I agree with this dude.Registry cleaners will NOT speed up for windows operatin system. But They do help to make your windows more stable. Microsoft Regclean is very good formanually cleaning out orphaned keys. ALso I use Xp Registry cleaner for tackling the HKEY orphaned keys and tuneup utilities 2006/2007 has a very safe registry cleaner. It's safe if you choose safe products okay.

    jonxp18

  • ye registry cleaner ended up being a viral one

  • REGISTRY BOOSTER 2 IS TOTALLY PROPER,nothing negative in it.i use it every single day and nothing gets screwed up.Btw:its made by Uniblue and they have a lot of other great tools that keep your system healthy.

  • Uniblue is the best:)

  • try cleaing the system drivers box cheak it once then say that

  • ok i might be wrong but registry leaves your ie or ff history??

  • no they won't clear browser history

  • I can't agree with you on this one. i have been repairing computers for 20 years and every one of the computers i have built for customers have registry mechanic and magic dragon( a program i wrote.) these both repair common problems with the registry. i have NEVER had a computer damaged by either of these programs. and i have seen hundreds of systems that were brought to a hault do to registry problem that has been repaired by both of these programs

  • Can we have some examples of the problems these fix?

  • Free is good. I just wondering why is free.

  • love the hat m8

  • i like to mess with my registry b/c i think its fun :|... and thats just me... i like messing with my system... and ccleaner dont do much... i found a program called regvac which has a novice mode for those that dont know what they r doing... and it has expert mode... which is sad to see that its not out there as much as i like it to see.. and it does make ur pc smoother... and guess what i have a video... on it to

  • I use CCleaner. I have never had a problem with it.

  • yeah same here. this clip got me scared tho

  • Hey Chris, I wish you have this video out a bit sooner, I used one of those lousy reg cleaner and now every time I start Windows, an error message pop up saying that "java virtual machine launcher" in fucked up.... can you tell me how to fix it?

  • Hey Chris what's up!!

Could you tell me if "regcure" is good ?

    thank you buddy

  • it's not good btw

  • Hey Chris what's up!!

Could you tell me if "regcure" is good ?

    thank you buddy

  • Nice Movie Guys - hes a legend! hgrant.net

  • aww fuck !!! sjity crapy windows shiping on my registry :P

  • cant spell corretli bicause of it :(

  • lol u can't spell (because)

    so don't be talking

  • "...windows will never be the same...You may have to reinstall windows to make it go faster anyway"

    Heh...that was a good one ^^

  • One of your phone mates say to reinstall your o/s every six months or so, and I wonder if you'd elaborate on this point? Is your o/s by itself on a drive, or do you use the 'repair' function of your install disk, or what?

  • I think they mean full reinstall. I use a separate partition for the OS, and swap file. I make the OS partition small, about 8-10 GB, and use it only for the OS, no programs. As many of the dynamic directories (User files, destop, documents, temp, internet files, etc.) as I can move, get placed on a different partition, so the OS never outgrows it's partition. The swap file partition I make about 2GB, and fix it's size to 2GB.

  • Bottom Line - My best Registry Cleaner is "Fdisk and Reinstall Windows". I install all my programs in D: partition, and have a file folder with all my drivers, and utilities and the XP User files. Reinstalling Windows turns into a 2-4 hour process (still a pain, but not as bad). Most programs I use can be launched without any registry entries. These regcleaners are sketchy, at best. Unless you don't mind reinstalling your OS, try not to use them, the benefit isn't worth the expense.
