Happy ending is just abused after all... and btw, the story itself is a spiral: Simon is becoming the new Spiral King, as you can see in the last scene (not necessairly evil ofc), the kid he talks to, is the young Simon and so on... definitely GODLIKE, from start to end. After Evangelion, only Gainax can surpass itself and they does with this amine.
