This is simple. The inspiration of writing script for 3 Idiots came from the novel Five Point Someone by Chetan Bhagat. The movie did well but there are no mentioning about the source. The same thing happened with Vikas Swarup, who wrote Q & A and Slumdog Millionaire got oscar. I believe that authors are not trying for publicity but there should be some appreciation about their creativity and hard work.
