Yes, look up the song and type Top of the Pops after it on YouTube. It's a bit strange seeing Bing in 1975 surrounded by rather puzzled but very well-behaved teenage girls.
@denisbyrne1 I have tried and tried and cant find even a midifile version of this lovely song ,anywhere in the world.but if you find something i would be greatful...keep searching..
Bing Crosby co-wrote this song with Les Reed, Ken Barnes, and Peter Dacre in 1975. Bing Crosby co-wrote at least 15 songs during his career, contributing lyrics.
I just wanted to say thanks for putting this on here, My Dad died in April 2008 and we had this at his funeral. He was a big Bing Crosby fan, and the lyrics say it all, I think.
It always makes me cry, but I still love to listen to it.
@Insomniacgirl100 yes, I feel the same way about Bing, he's like my father, and when I hear his words of wisdom, the pearls of life,, I also cry, just when I think oh him, I get choked up inside, every time,, that was a man, one heck of a man! Take care!
I'm making a slideshow for my grandmother's 90th birthday, and I'm really hoping to use this song, but I can't find it ANYWHERE. So I was wondering if you could send me the file or a link to the file so that I could have it? Bing Crosby is one of her favourites and it would be awesome to have this as the ending song to the slideshow.
Sorry if I sound pushy, sending you a message and now commenting...I just really need to start working on this XD
my dad was one of the biggest bing fans ever, it was one of the greatest days in his life when he saw him in concert in the usher hall in edinburgh in 1977 a few months before bing died, i was only 9 but remember his excitment as if it was yesterday, great song one of my faves, thanks for posting
Thank you so much Les, not just for this song...but the many great songs you have written over the years. This has always been one of my favourite songs and the lyrics are so special and meaningfull ('man and boy I looked on high and never failed to thank him nightly') that gets me everytime.
I'm truly gratefull & honoured that you've left this comment.
Bing's voice is such a comforting joy,, he's everyone's "DAD"!!! Thanks for posting a wonderful song!
