The ACR is nice, but it's unlikely we'll switch to it.

The H&K 416 can pretty do every thing the ACR can.

What our military wanted was a weapon that was better than th M4, but would handle exactly like it. The H&K 416 is basicly an M4 with a piston system instead of a DI system. And Barrett, S&W, Sabre Defense, and others have already made M4 with Piston systems, which solves it's realiability problems, and I don't care who you are, nothing is simpliler than popping out two pins to clean. :)

@XxGummib3arxX The AK-47 is the best rifle ever built, the reason it was a "cheep" gun is because it was designed to be economically sound as a more "bang for you buck" rifle. The AK out performed the M16 in almost all feilds especially the one that realy counted and that is maintenance/cleaning. The AK could be submersed in mud dry out, dug up and all you would have to do is bang in on a table to clear the dirt and it would be good to fire.

Some of you are taking the "Barrel swapping" thing too literally. The gun is modular, like they showed in the vid - they would build the weapon according to the mission. Leaving 7.62 brass behind is less obvious, than a bunch of .223 brass being left behind. It also gives the operator the choice to use the enemy's ammo against them should he run out.

It's more practical to just use the enemies weapon than go through the trouble of barrel swapping. Developing a weapon like this will allow friendly forces to murder towns, innocents, and anyone then allow the media to blame it on the enemy. Frame them and make them lose moral from their people. Thus allowing the leadership to be replaced by Western influence.
