The particles are in DI water and it allows the particles to flow using capillary forces through the channels. The water containing the particles are loaded in the reservoirs on the right and flow to the empty reservoirs on the left.

The black areas are the electrodes. The area around the channels is all SU-8 material.

from 1.22 sec which one is electrode , Is the black color material?
