  • Hey Ollie, These lessons are really helpful. Thanks for taking the time. Best wishes and keep up the good work; I appreciate your help.

  • Very helpful~ and I've learned being on stage, that sometimes it is better to play that left hand an octave higher like he is doing here....some songs...not all..but some..do interfere with the bass player's bass line..sounds a bit "cluttered"..so I tend to play an octave higher at times. You just have to sort of hear it and know. So, if you're on stage and you hear that kind of "messy" sound..try an octave higher on your left hand.

  • very useful! thanks man

  • Yes I like very much

  • great video

  • can you explain some right hand melodies?

  • Rock around with Ollie Vee! Yeah!!

  • Hey i have a question i play ok in simple bass (c-g)-(c-a) but if i begin try like u show, i can not synhronize both hands(if falls out of rythm)

  • Whenever you learn any left hand pattern, especially in boogie woogie, it MUST be absolutely solid. If it helps, play along to a drum track or a recording of a song. Only when you can easily change to the IV or V (try whilst talking to someone else, or picking your nose, whatever...) put the right hand on top.

    And don't strain yourself!

    NEW LESSONS COMING. Requests?

  • i have da same problem... i can not play bass and melody all in once! im tryin so hard doe

  • Thank you for sharing all this great accompaniment and bass line ideas for boogiewoogie. However a matter of notes and technique are two separate areas in music. It is very easy to injure hands playing this demanding repetitive patterns. Any one who wants to practice this extensively should also search out help with technique. Trust me I learned that the hard way I have injured my hands many times until I found proper teachers and sources to help me relearn my technique.

  • 勉強になりましたm(_;_)m

    so very shnks u^^

  • This is FANTASTIC! oh would you please be able to make more like this!? Oh thank you!!

  • heeeyyy jack =) yes, he is, neever had a lesson =D

    auditions tomorrow, argh. :s

  • Your playing your basslines an octave to high.

  • i know, but its easier to see.

  • well taught

  • great vid. i play this alot.

  • Nice. But it's a bit more difficult to master these riffs if you are using a real piano, or a keyboard with weighted keys. I think more than a few days are needed to get them right.
