Meh, this kind of proves that P90x works for some people, but not all. Not saying your results aren't good, as they are an improvement over how you were, but they are nowhere near the god-tier that other videos are. I personally had slightly better results with HIIT and Zone Diet over a 1 month period.

@teesidethai for the first couple of weeks you feel very sore but you get used to it really, yes you work out everyday save for one day thats a rest day if you choose to take it instead of stretching. People dont do it because theyre either lazy, uninspired, or just dont want to do it :/
@teesidethai dude04345 has a great video that shows what you need to get started, the video is called "P90X (PX90) Everything you need to Start Today!" I recommend checking that out. The only advice I have for you is to keep pushing play and never give up on it! It gets rough and tough but the end result is so worth it!

@kp7100 Pull ups are giving me a hard time too. You need to build up the right muscles. Do pull ups with a chair or other support like a small table. Just rest your legs and let your upper body do the work. Try to isolate the muscles in your back as you pull. Also use the bands to do pull downs, or use a lat pull down machine at a gym if you have access.
@kp7100 do either negatives by stepping up to the bar using a chair and then let yourself down slowly or the best approach is to use a lat machine. I bought a second hand lat machine for $250 and it was able to get me up to strength and beyond, I can 1 rep max 100lbs more than my bodyweight now ;) It's all good.
You can order all the stuff along with P90X, but it costs extra. The pullup bar can be baught at almsot any fitness store, even walmart if I'm correct. Only like $20 for one. 2 dumbbells are needed that CAN DO THE JOB, dont get too light, not to heavy. That's all you really need. If you are overweight, maybe start with resistance bands instead of pullup bar. They teach you how to use the resistant bands as substitue for the pullup bar as you do the workout.

@psycko6 Yes. It works wonders. At your age, you can get some serious results because of your added growth hormones that you can tap into. I started p90x at 26, so I'll probably never be able to get the results you could probably acheive by graduation day. A friend on mine started this at 20 and dropped from 350 lbs down to 220 lbs in under a year. He's lifting almost double what I am right now. If you have the drive, I highly recommend it.

Im thinking of buying this for my cardio I already follow a bodybuilding workout at the gym but with 4-5 hours a weightlifting every week I dont have time to spend more time at the gym for my cardiovascular and endure health. I just ordered my set and from what I hear, I need dumbells(check), pull-up bar, yoga mat, chair(check), shoes(check), and a dvd player(check)LOL. What else would you recommend? Any vitamins? And did those "perfect push-up" bars help alot?
if you have the right dumbells you can use those. the yoga mat is optional, i hardly use mine, but thats personal preference. get the recovery drink. it helps a lot. AND FOLLOW THE DIET!!!!!!!!!!! serious crap. it helps keep you energized

Here is a hint for anyone, save your money and get off your ass, its not hard, just do it. Start a little each day, when the results start coming it will start to become your motivation.
@TheTruthHurtsYup You're oversimplifying things. Sure it's common sense that basic exercise and good diet will get results over time. Personally I have no monetary expenditure or gain. I go to a friends house and use his stuff. After 6 mths his whole household is fit. If people didn't find value in the product, even if you don't, they wouldn't buy it. Numbers don't lie though. If it works, it's small change for good health.

@TheTruthHurtsYup People are different. Some people have vision and inner drive, and some people need direction and constant external motivation. That doesn't make them weak or foolish. They just have different strengths. If you take the time it would take to put together a well rounded fitness regimen and equate it to hours on a job, it's really a fair exchange. It's chump change anyway. And judging from how it's caught on, it's making a difference in people's lives. That's what matters.

@SnMRudolph oats in the morning. water water water water. chicken. veggies. fruit is not bad. just dont eat more than 2000 calories. its hard to say that though because everyone is different.
Depending on your weight and statistics, the program asks that you eat a certain amount of servings for each food group (lots of protein for the first phase of the workout), and they provide you with a list of foods you can choose from under each category of food groups.
Man your results are great! I tried doing p90x during the summer but i just coudlnt do it..the workout is extremely tough, even to the experienced. I was forced to quit it, i work at a physical labor instense job and p90x just tore me apart even more. but now im startin up again and im on week one baby and ive already lost 8 pounds. this workout program works trust me guys
u will need a place 2 do pullups or a pullup door bar a variety of weights light,medium,and heavy or light,medium,and heavy resistance bands either or and the will power 2 push play everyday and urself 2 the limit
im 17 6'1 170 lbs and i started p90x 1/17/10 i did disc 1 without pullups (no bar or place 2 do em) and i only have 8.8 lbs dumbell set so 4 pullup exercise i curled 20 reps of da dumbell

It's day 21 for me, I have lost 1.5 inches off my waist and gained 1 inch on my biceps. P90X is the best thing that has happened to me, well except for coming to Christ.

Hey congrats on your results! Your results are realistic. I think it's important for people to realize that the point to P90x is to tone and replace fat with muscle, not to lose weight.. you might not lose 20lbs, but you'll definitely lose a lot of inches! I've been working out for 2 years now, but am only on Phase 1, week 4 of the program.. I'm the same body type as you, so I'm hoping for similar results. :)

I just ordered my set and from what I hear, I need dumbells(check), pull-up bar, yoga mat, chair(check), shoes(check), and a dvd player(check)LOL. What else would you recommend? Any vitamins? And did those "perfect push-up" bars help alot?

if you have the right dumbells you can use those. the yoga mat is optional, i hardly use mine, but thats personal preference. get the recovery drink. it helps a lot. AND FOLLOW THE DIET!!!!!!!!!!! serious crap. it helps keep you energized

@LotusElise05 Omg, this workout is just simple moves and doing them consistently, thats the real key, what a break through, who would've thought you needed to workout and be active regularly, truly a defining moment huh. Man, people are sooo lame. Push ups, pull ups, bicep curls, sit ups, OMG a BREAK THROUGH! LOL LOL Just do it, give your body time to rest in between and always try to increase reps or weight, and I didn't ask for you credit card to give you that info! WOW!

@revelinabandon yes, its a strange phenomena. Pay loads of cash to get off your ass. Maybe you reap the benefits of taking peoples money. Here is a hint for anyone, save your money and get off your ass, its not hard, just do it. Start a little each day, when the results start coming it will start to become your motivation.

@TheTruthHurtsYup You're oversimplifying things. Sure it's common sense that basic exercise and good diet will get results over time. Personally I have no monetary expenditure or gain. I go to a friends house and use his stuff. After 6 mths his whole household is fit. If people didn't find value in the product, even if you don't, they wouldn't buy it. Numbers don't lie though. If it works, it's small change for good health.

@revelinabandon I don't know, I like to try to save people money, sometimes I wish there were more people like me who could've saved me money. I'm not oversimplifying anything, to lose weight and get in shape, it is simple! and you save money! What's more motivating than that?!

@TheTruthHurtsYup People are different. Some people have vision and inner drive, and some people need direction and constant external motivation. That doesn't make them weak or foolish. They just have different strengths. If you take the time it would take to put together a well rounded fitness regimen and equate it to hours on a job, it's really a fair exchange. It's chump change anyway. And judging from how it's caught on, it's making a difference in people's lives. That's what matters.

when i downloaded mine i just looked on google what the scedule is, i eat homecooked meals and healthy every day so i dont need to watch what i eat, just dont eat a lot of shit foods is basicaly it

yeah i am currently on day 37 actually haha but am starting to have trouble getting the workouts in because i am away from home at school all day a few days a week and don't get my workouts in till past midnight. are you taking any kind of protein or supplements?

@SnMRudolph oats in the morning. water water water water. chicken. veggies. fruit is not bad. just dont eat more than 2000 calories. its hard to say that though because everyone is different.

Depending on your weight and statistics, the program asks that you eat a certain amount of servings for each food group (lots of protein for the first phase of the workout), and they provide you with a list of foods you can choose from under each category of food groups.

the diet is outlined with the program, i usually eat 5 servings of protein, 1 to 2 carbs, 1 to 2 dairys, and i usually eat 2-3 fruits.

Man your results are great! I tried doing p90x during the summer but i just coudlnt do it..the workout is extremely tough, even to the experienced. I was forced to quit it, i work at a physical labor instense job and p90x just tore me apart even more. but now im startin up again and im on week one baby and ive already lost 8 pounds. this workout program works trust me guys

u will need a place 2 do pullups or a pullup door bar a variety of weights light,medium,and heavy or light,medium,and heavy resistance bands either or and the will power 2 push play everyday and urself 2 the limit
im 17 6'1 170 lbs and i started p90x 1/17/10 i did disc 1 without pullups (no bar or place 2 do em) and i only have 8.8 lbs dumbell set so 4 pullup exercise i curled 20 reps of da dumbell
as u c i gotta make do with what i have 4 now till i get enuff money 2 get right equipment

Sure. I requested to be a friend. My wife and I already hold each other accountable. We do this together. But hey, more people only help! It's day 21 for me, I have lost 1.5 inches off my waist and gained 1 inch on my biceps. P90X is the best thing that has happened to me, well except for coming to Christ.

Hey congrats on your results! Your results are realistic. I think it's important for people to realize that the point to P90x is to tone and replace fat with muscle, not to lose weight.. you might not lose 20lbs, but you'll definitely lose a lot of inches! I've been working out for 2 years now, but am only on Phase 1, week 4 of the program.. I'm the same body type as you, so I'm hoping for similar results. :)
