Women should get whatever it is they strive for if they do what it takes...and Ms. Polgar has done just that.
I mean, c'mon! They give a lifeless piece of crap computer, built by several men, using as many historical chess games as possible, pit it against a single man and call THAT a GAME!?!? HOGWASH!
We may well be seeing an up and coming world Chess Champion, and I, for one, will be in her corner.
Is it just me or is this interview silly? Its hilarious to hear the "journalists" try not to be misogynistic with their questions. Truth be told, women GM's just don't compete in the male dominated tournaments as much as, I think, they should. Recently Irina Krush scored 4.5 out of ten in the 2010 US Championship, besting over 9 other GMs and IM's with ELO ratings at par or above her own. I hope to see more of that!
i can't believe she is doing this interview in a low cut dress, she must have really caught up with the 2000's mentality. I remember in the 90's when she would dress classy and flaunt her actual chess skills playing, she was still only a decent player, not as good as Sofia Polgar, who the heck is she trying to impress with her exposed cleavage? this video must be marketed to an American Audience, because by European standards she is not even close to being hot or attractive.
by not as good as Sofia i'm just saying that Sofia is still more classy than Judith, in how she dresses, i'm well aware Judith has a higher chess ranking than Sofia. But hey i haven't forgot the 90's, boy this sex sells pussy control era of the 2000's is absolutely hilarious. yeah she was a decent player, but in the end money does matter and i'm sure Judith has wised up to the current trend in pop culture of flaunting sexy ness, but i remember when in the 90's nobody would even consider that!
of course men play better. There has never been a single world chess champion who was a woman. There is only 1 woman in the list of 100 best players of all time and it's judith polgar.
@GoldeWC Have you ever studied probability? In for example the German Chess Federation, men outnumber women by 16:1. Women are often discouraged from playing because of male chauvinism or lack of interest.
@erinra There are always excuses. It isn't just chess but all sports that require some form of thinking. Men dominate women in every field, from science to sports.
@Brand131 Men have been dominating the fields (forcefully, on-and-off) for thousands of years, going as far as to even forbid the other sex from studying and working. It was only about 50-90 years ago women were granted a substantial education, and even then, not to the same extent as men. Are these weak excuses? Is societal and behavioural change supposed to occur within only one meagre lifetime?
@erinra I think the neuroscience is pretty clear on this particular area - male brains appear to be more specialised for spatial tasks such as physics, chess and mathematics. This is not scientifically disputable.
I would blitz fuck her
