I like both Tyler and Spike; however, SOME of Tyler Perry's work (i.e., Madea, Mr. Brown) I CANNOT STAND. That's the part where I agree with Spike. I believe that the motion picture industry has room for both Lee and Perry and this "argument/controversy" is ACADEMIC. From a racial uplift point of view (a la B.T. Washington). both directors contribute to the variegated image of the Af Am community and should be allowed to portray "their" reality.
