@HKMANIAK Was chatting to a soldier who has driven them and Landies here in NZ. She said Pinzies are a pig to drive on the road but make up for it off-road. And unlike the NZ Armys ancient Landies, they are reliable. Saw one a few months back towing a Landie, which said it all... They do seem a bit heavy to me, I have to say...
SHANGRALAAAA17 I highly doubt your new truck no matter how you set it up will go farther or last longer in the snow and below 0 temperatures. This thing with the tracks is an animal. Ultimate snow vehicle right there.
Pinzgauers are the easiest vehicle in the world to work on! If you can work on a riding mower... you can work on a Pinzgauer. Parts are readily available on the internet too!
those are so badass... theres a company near my old work (IPS) and they have these for some of their Chevy K4500 flatbed and tanker trucks
they use them for light duty in the oilpatch...seeing as regular trucks will get stuck if they attempt to go onto a rig lease in the spring...or into a farmers field to check on a wells or pipe lines.
That is the other most popular dimwit response. "I could buy a new truck for that" No kidding genius! This is a one of kind hybrid military variant... not an '09 Chevy. Like I said, most think that they cost 5K before they do any research.
Yes. But only the Mattracks. I want to keep the truck and put tires back on. If it means selling the Mattracks I would possibly consider selling the truck too. It rules!
I have a Jeep. It gets stuck AND breaks down a lot. It also has solid axles and leaf springs (like a stagecoach) and rides like one too. Oh yeah, it also doesn't cary much more than a cooler and also gets worse gas mileage.
LOL, reading the comments can be fun. All I have to say is one thing, If you have to ask, Then you just don't understand!!!!!!

that thing is awesome but why does it have a spare tire???
stihl192t 1 year ago 15
It's simply adding a bit more weight to the rear axle.
gawker8750 1 year ago 11
@gawker8750 how much do they reli cost????
sitandswivelnow 1 year ago
@gawker8750 it's because this is a normal tire truck, the mattracks were put just to drive in the snow

This is incredible. The Pinzgauer, even in stock configuration, is easily one of the most capable off road vehicles ever.
But a Pinzgauer with Mattracks? The off-road doesn't stand a chance...

@SHANGRALAAAA17 A new truck could not go half the places this thing could. You're comparing apples to oranges.
superchris09 2 years ago
What are you asking for the Mattracks?
doccoffin 2 years ago
They cost 32K new. I'm selling them slightly used for 28K. Most people think that they cost in the 5K range though!
gawker8750 2 years ago
that is awesome!! wanna sell it?!

What is the spare tire for?
Bagabagab 2 years ago
It's there for extra weight over the rear axle. I switch back and forth between the tracks and the tires a few times a year so it just stays there.
gawker8750 2 years ago
i gotta get me one of those!!

lol why is there a tyre on the back, shouldnt there be another tread?
Vezi707 2 years ago 16
Compared to the mattrack that is the dounut wheel ^u^.
lostinseganet 2 years ago
@Vezi707 that would be pointless, treads don't get punctures, and what does it use when it doesn't have treads?

jeeps suck. they get bad gas mileage, are way too light for snowy roads, and they barely have any cargo space.
i'd take my lowered v6 s10 over a jeep any day lol. i'd rather crawl over a speed bump than take a jeep anywhere
