  • holy shit is that ur pool?

  • the bloggie is really good for wt u pay i payed 148 with shipping and everything

  • i think the bloggie wins i dont know it looks mor real and natural than the vado

  • Bloggie gives a smoother shot at 720P 60fps but something has to be done about it's poor focus.

  • i think both of them is good. thumbs up if u agree

  • @reegg96 .. agree : )

  • @APrintezis sony bloggie cm5 vs kodak playtouch. with one is better u think ? i want buy it.

  • @reegg96 .. i did't have the chance the test the PlayTouch, but if it is as good as the PlaySport it should be great and i think they are very comparable in video resolution and quality - major difference would be the form factor. a side-by-side could only show on a per-frame basis which one is "better" in the eyes of the beholder : )

  • @APrintezis ohh ok2. . i want buy pocket camcorder that have quality + can shoot sharp video, just that. I can do some color correction to get better color like vado HD LOL

  • The vado's wide angle lens is what makes the choice easy for me

  • @TheFr3sh1 .. same here : )

  • strange .. when the sony changed to 60fps @ 1..22 the Q got better on my screen ?? the Vado? looked better most of the time though.

    good test

  • wow dude, the new ipod touch 4 came out. the iphone 4 hd is amazing. should i get the new ipod touch instead of this> xD

  • @johnykonta57 .. the camera on the iPhone 4 and the 4th gen iPod are -not- the same, they do have the same resolution but they do not have the same lens or software to make/compress/white balance the video .. just fyi to check that out ; )

  • can you send me the link that sells this camera ''vado'', i don't know the model.

  • The sony CM5 has a more natural look to it in my opinion

  • its like yellowish on the VADo.. :S

  • can the zony bloggie be turned on without flipping the screen?

  • @mydeepsecretaccount .. well, there is an on-off button that can be used for that reason, -BUT- it is located under the view-screen, so the only way to press that is to open the screen first (which makes sense because there is no other way to know what you are shooting, also it keeps the camera from accidentally turning on when stored). You -CAN- turn it off with the screen is open, and then off again, using that button.

  • @mydeepsecretaccount it is sony not zony

  • pepsi machine ;D

  • Sorry, I wasn't concentrating on the quality I was concentrating on the place... oh God I love that swimming pool.

  • @xlr814music LOL

  • @xlr814music I like the pool too.

  • Many thanks.

  • Thanks for the reply. What video editing software would you recommend.

  • @GlennLane1 .. i have used Adobe Premiere Pro and Elements, Corel Video Studio, Magix Movie Edit Pro, Pinnacle Studio, Sony Vegas, and PowerDirector.

Out of these i recommend version 8 of the PowerDirector by Cyberlink.

Version 7 of the PowerDirector and Pinnacle Studio are also good, but they kept crashing when i was editing long HD video files.

For non-HD video files, i recommend the older version of Windows Movie Maker, the one that came with Windows Vista.

    Hope this helps.

  • What's the minimum PC spec to upload comfortably?

  • @GlennLane1 if by 'upload' you mean to sites like youtube, then basically any computer, laptop, or netbook can do that - it is not a big deal. you need more pc power, ram, good graphics card only when you want to edit these HD files, for everything else any old computer would do.

  • which one is the best camera from bouth. Can you please tell me.

  • Would be interesting to know the bitrates of the Kodak zi8 as well. I couldn't find them so far...

  • i do not have that, but i saw a few posts that the 720p is aprox. 6,500 kbps and the 1080p is aprox. 13,500 kbps (!) - which sounds a lot to me .. but that's what i found in two other posts ?! Can anyone confirm these numbers?

  • Comment removed

  • The Sony records at a variable bit rate that typically ranges from 3700 to 3900 kbps at 29 fps while the Vado HD records at a constant 8471 kbps at 30 fps. As a result, Vado files are about twice the size, and contain about twice as much detail.

Vado sound is 177 kbps, mono at 44 kHz while Sony records sound at 127 kbps, stereo at 48 kHz. Also, the sound recorded by the Sony is significantly louder.

  • there seems to be some confusion on the "count" so let me try to explain what i mean by 3rd gen here.

    1st gen = that 4GB silver non-HD one

2nd gen = the black 8GB HD one with the silicon skin and the lens that stick out

3rd gen = the 4GB HD one that just came out with the glossy finish and various colors to choose from.

  • Thx for your post!

Do you know the bitrates of the Sony Bloggie and the Vado HD 3rd gen ?

Atm I am considering to purchase the Flip Ultra HD, as it has an average bitrate of 9 Mbps at 720p. I have the slight suspicion that the bitrate is much lower with most other pocket cams, which results in poor video quality although they offer full hd. And the electornic image stabilisations of Sony and Kodak don't really work...

  • Is this the Vado HD 1st generation ?

  • this one is the 2nd generation .. the 8GB one

  • but when you say 1st get HD .. i am pretty sure you are talking about the same thing.

  • dude..Vado owns!...
