I wish people that post videos, on YouTube, would take a lesson from you in proper video techniques. Talking when taking video and music and auto focus all drive me nuts.
@mysteryman2580 The 4449 does all the pulling. The diesel is just on there as power for the passenger cars and also in case something were to go wrong with the steam engine in transit. 4449 no longer pulls trains in regular service, but she is fired up a few times each year to run special excursion trains.
Hey Brandon since you know more about this trip than I do I was hoping you might be able to answer my question. Seeing that 4449 is going to be running 261's fall color excursions in October after TrainFest, is 4449 going back to Portland when TrainFest is over, or will it be staying in the midwest?
there are NO Plains in the works for the 261 to come to the NRHS Convention for 2010! The locomotive I can say is still in pieces and the lease is still trying to be worked out. Last I heard the locomotive wont be back together for quite some time.
Cool video...So 4449 will be leaving the northtown shops on the 18th and will travel to milwaukee via the BNSF down the Mississippi on the St. Croix sub. correct?
Man it really is a great event for everyone across the country to finally see her and all her beauty, us portlanders Hog all the glory I know. What a great time in RR history
P.S. I hope she comes back real soon!

two questions. is she running on her own or is the diesel pushing her, and is she still in commercial use or just tourism.

Great video. Too bad here in Idaho, if they do run a steam special. It's NEVER in the news here for info when to see it.
Do they run it with coal?
