I tried the same thing with my car and got similar results , although my maf sensor was ok after. But I think driving around with a leaf blower on the cars bonnet might impede forward vision a tad, and that could be dangerous .
Same thing happened with my Crown Vic putting a Spectre conical air filter on it. it almost killed my MAF sensor and I barely made it home on one 30 mile trip! $30 in the trash!
@keyofdavid888 you know you're supposed to disconnect the battery before installing anything like that on your car so that the computer can re-set the parameters. I run my crown vic without an air cleaner and have never had a problem.
@AAN460 who said i didn't disconnect the computer? I did it several times after cleaning the MAF with the correct MAF cleaner. It would only work for a few miles and then throw my check engine light again. The oil from the filter was coating my MAF and my car ran like CRAP.
@cob32187 I did. A stock 2000 ford ranger has a book recorded and stock hp value of 160 hp. With the much needed perform package they inserted upon purchase, it got 145 on the dyno. But agreed the 145 or 130 or anywhere around that area of hp especially for a truck wasn't much entertaining. The 3.0 of the 2000 was one of the best ford ever made if I do say so, but yet this 302 I pulled out of a 1994 f150 definitely set the bar. Went from stockin to rockin with 2,200 bucks. Best money ever spent
Nice lookin truck..... What suspension and where did you get the fiberglass? I just bought a 95 and want to do a prerunner. Been lookin at the Auto Fab stuff....
@BaronRogoff1 The added air from the leaf blower temporarily messed up the MAF sensor. Everything was fine after the battery was disconnected from the truck.

Now if someone does this with a Ford, they are just rednecks, if they do it with a Honda they are ricers. LOL! Love it.

105? What years your ranger mines a 2000 3.0 and it put out 145 stock. Now it be getting bout 316 hp with a modded 302
Zosski27 5 months ago
@Zosski27 RWHP. If you put your "145" horse truck on a dyno you'd be lucky to hit 130 at the rear wheels.

That's like putting a 3x bigger turbo on that truck. Probably sucked rooming air in and wasn't able to suck any gas in, why it wouldn't start.
