  • when ur shooting him with the basketball ring the sun is at his back how come he is not sihlouette?

  • @gajetjoe Because I chose to expose for him and not the sun.

  • Great video, I find it really helpfull.

  • You're a genius! Especially finding these backgrounds. That's my biggest problem. That b-ball court was genius with the rusty vintage looking chain

  • for both wall shots and basketball shot, I guess all of them.

  • @gfcfgal Sorry but this was 7 months ago. I just don't remember. But you should be able to get close seeing the shots on the screen and me telling you what lens was used.

  • @gfcfgal I have a feeling it was the 24-70 F2.8 L

  • how far away were you from your subject? I've wanted the Fab 50 lens but recently got the 55-250mm IS Canon lens.

  • @gfcfgal For which shot?

  • Great video, I can see this will help a lot next time i'm out in the field. Can you tell me how far away you were from your subject and how far away the subject was from the wall at your first location against the vertical wall? I can't ever get that kind of blurring out of my 50mm 1.8 no matter how hard I try. Great photos again! +1 Subscriber :)

  • @ChevyTBlover the subject was 12 feet away from the wall. You can defiantly get that kind of blurring with your lens. The trick is understanding that DOF ( that out of focus blurring ) is caused by three variables that must be considered. You are only considering one of them and that is aperture value. There are 2 others. Please see the complete tutorial on the website listed in the video and on the forums there.

  • Are you shooting Canon or Nikon? Great Videos btw

  • @FirebrandNIRE I shoot Canon, but anything these days can be used to make great shots.

  • @PhotoClassPro Cheers!

  • @PhotoClassPro

    Thanks!

anyway...i just want to ask...how did you got the "tunneling" effect (3:58-4:00) that was nice..i hope i can copy that..thank you so much...

  • @mypawgi That is the result of a photoshop action applied. Specifically one that is available on the website.

  • @PhotoClassPro aaaawww..how stupid of me..^_^ but thanks for your great videos...i learned a lot..i hope i could attend in your class in some other time..(Philippines-Riyadh-US) yikes!..next time i'll share my photos to you..more power...

  • love the live view mode. it make understanding how the shot was set up easier.

  • Your videos are always great. Thank you for the great tips!

  • Another great video. i like these videos where you go out and show your face instead of just going behind the scenes. btw random but at 1:17 there is a huge insect walking pass your feets

  • i love your videos.

  • For those reflections in the glasses of the boy, would a Circ. Polar. Filter work?

  • @CMampaey Depends on the reflections. I did not have one with more or would have tried it.

  • 01:10 would you quit!? who is doing the podcast?

  • Nice job. How did you focus? Manual or Auto? Can you tell the camera settings for the focus point? I'm having a hard time focusing with the 50mm 1.8. Thx

  • @rafapires For video I manually focus. For photos I use the auto single point focus technique. You will have an easier time focusing if you of course are not shooting at F/1.8 but stopped down to say F/2.8
