Although the transformation design was very simple, and the colours were not standard G1 Prime's, I thought the general animation of this video was actually really good; especially the way the "camera" is panning, as though it's actually handheld.

In the latter (crap) half of G1 there is a character called ultra magnus... he spends most of his time being a huge (much bigger than prime) robot but in the few episodes where he does transform you find out the form you normaly see him in is when he combines with his traler, without it he's a white pallet swap of optimus.

this is cool, but honestly i thought there was nothing wrong with the movie transformations. it made it more interesting (and to be honest less degrading to be watching something epic based off of a tv show, not that theres anything wrong with the tv show, its just that some people have a problem with it)

This looks far much better than the actual movie. Transformations in the movie really sucked balls, and except for Optimus, none of the transformers resembled even nearly their cartoon counterparts, it was impossible to tell them apart.

I found them pretty easy to tell who was ment to be who... but at the same time i see where you're coming from, they did change far too much, and while some of the new characters were actualy pretty cool there was no need to make up new characters (or dig out the more obscure ones) when there were so many great characters they left out.
