Can you point me to where I can buy Poi in Chicago? either fire or not, I'd like to get some before I go on holiday and don't think ordering online would get them here in time. Thanks!
There is NOT anyplace in Chicago to buy poi. Outside of ordering online, I think your best bet would be to make your own set, or if you know someone in Chi, see if they'd be willing to make set for you that you could pick up when you arrive...
Do not spin fire on the lakefront on your own. Open fires (including poi) in Chicago are illegal, and that is the best place to get caught. The group that runs these spin jams have, over the course of the past few years, developed a good understanding with local law enformcement.
Rogue spinners who do fire whenever and wherever they want could cause a crackdown that would keep all of us from spinning. Other cities have flat out banned fire. Please be safe and never do it on public property.

The group doesn't have a permit from what I know. More of an understanding with the police in the area to be safe.
