With the camera we used then - no. However, it would maybe work with a better camera. There also has to be sufficient shadows from the edges of the papers so that the edge detection finds them, so maybe the paper sheets would have to be pretty thick.

We used the serial port functions in matlab to send ascii commands and receive data from the arduino.

what if you have nothing but white paper that needs stacking? will the program recognize the individual sheets?
