I remember watching a lot of these starting when I was a child and up into my twenties and I absolutely adored them. I realized even back then that they weren't as "polished" as Disney's or even the Looney Toons but I didn't give a damn and still don't. Without my realizing it, they were my entry into classical music and surrealism. Some are so over-the-top weird and eerie and frantic and funny that they belong to an unknown class of their own. I really do miss them.
you never realize how strange some cartoons are until you get older and look back on them, i actually enjoy cartoons now alot more then i ever did as a child..
We would get up "before day" and watch these cartoons...we'd have to sit real close to the T.V. and turn the sound down low so we wouldn't disturb my Dad while he was sleeping...Just imagine all the masters we were exposed to musically between these cartoons and also Loonie Tunes...
My brother and I use to watch these cartoons before we went to elementary school...my goodness I must have been in kindergarten or 1st grade! As a musician, I absolutely love the orchestrations and I know every note in every part and could watch and listen all day long! I love these. I never thought I would see these again. We want more!!Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
I think that watching these cartoons when my brother and I were about 6 yrs old helped enable us to appreciate music of more extended form and sophisticated orchestration.
I was a kid in the early 60's I watched these on TV everyday! Where did you dredge these up? Do you know who composed the stock music? It used to show up everywhere - commercials, travelogues, documentaries, cartoons - everywhere! That music was as familiar as Beethoven's Fifth.
Dear God! I thought I would NEVER see these again! I got up every Saturday morning religiously and without fail to watch these insane things-and the fantastic music affects me to this day. And I am glad I am not alone in loving these. Alanrowekelly, luudnoma and vibra64, we know what's good, just like everyone of our generation!
have you got any more cartoons of boots walking on thier own? or can you remember any names of the cartoons, Im trying to find the name of some cartoon I saw when I was a kid, I cant remember the name
this cartoon begins with my most favorite music of all time, you can believe,i never forgot, ever singing alone, since kid at today.. Who man did this pearl of classic ?? I think is a unknown name in this large world, perhaps never considered...Wonderful see it again, i remember another overture with designe name of Paul Terrytoons as the Superman traddicional title..you know about ?
