Depends what your reference is. If you compare it to a DSLR it's certainly average. The main problem is at low light conditions where the pictures come out very noisy and a bit blurry. Also video is mediocre. Anyway, you buy one of these cameras, not for the image quality but for the durability of the body.
i need that camera...in the past two years ive had three cameras, two broke cos i dropped them so much, one i dropped into a pint =/ yes im tht clumsy XD
I honestly don't remember if there is an option in the menus of the camera to boost sound capture levels. Perhaps you can boost sound levels with a video editing program like Pinnacle Studio, Cyberlink Power Director etc.
