prince i play this game but it is not smooth at all. rtw plays absolutely perfect on high setting but i play the lowest possible setting on m2tw and it is very sluggish. Any ideas????

@shore2222 yeah but that is the arab army, this is about the turkish army, they had heavier infantry, and they had grenades and gunners, the turkish army was different than the arab army.

@noorspark91 Janissary like the Varagian Guards of the Byzantine Empire are actually white europeans fighting in a foreign army, and I'm inclined to believe that the Janissary may have shared the same root as that of the Varagian Guards which owes a great proportion of its number to English mecenaries.

in trhis game there is a big problem with infantry european infantries are very well armored but they can still have very good stamina this is impossible in the past sometimes they can not reach turkish infantries but in game different.They have more than 40 kg armor and weapons a man in this weight can not run also.İf runs they must be exhousted.I thınk unarmored troops musty have very good stamina.

it is wrong turkish army in a normal turkish army they must have at least 4 units of horse archers .But you gave them lots of archers and you gave yourself lots of cavalry ofcourse you will win .Ofcourse your heavy cavalry will crush archers.!

Naffatuns... those are so overpowered. They kill so fast, then rout everything, they have crazy range, and they are so cheap ($390) + early period...

I have no idea how to avoid them, except showering them with arrows. So unfortunately I usually forbid them when I host a game... especially when it's a siege game. Ridiculously powerful.

@dsettleascii not in medieval 2. I remember having 2 heavy cav and 1 body guard and i was trying to move them to a city of mine when they got caught behind enemy lines. Enemy attacked me with 3 spear millitia 2 archer millitia and 2 peasants and I won the battle. Would run my cav in at the spears and turn and run them away at the last second and my general would plow through their backs and then turn and when the spears turned to chase the general my other cav would back rush them again.

Lithuanian Archers are my favorite, also the Lithuanian cavalry are one of the best horse archers and light cavalry ;) so when you want to own russia or poland just recruit some :)

Uhm...you seriously never played Rome Total War? You chose units from the beginning of the game aka recruit an army upgrade it's weapons+armor+battle experience(makes them more effective). Now when you start the game you'll have your army standing on the field ready to be arranged in what formation you want it to be. Then the battle starts. Unlike most strategy games, Total War games require strategy.

I couldnt completely understand the directions of army but you seem to have used forest terrain well againstr Turks. The gameplay difference between Empire and Medieval is wide. So I must gratz your well play. Btw longbowmen rocks :D

Once a unit is invisible, it's completely invisible. But if they're on the move, they are no longer invisible. Still, if they're traveling through the woods, it'll make it slightly more difficult for your opponent to see them as opposed to them moving on an open map.

This really is fun to play if your computer can run it well, turning up the settings and having only two units fight is actually great fun; some of the battle animations are really cool!

I'm a bit uncertain whether the factions in M2TW have more or less depth than Rome, however; Rome's certainly have more character but Medieval II has a far more varied unit selection, although Rome possesses more of those "oddball" units like chariots that are so fun to use.
