The man is my trainer. Just think of the half pass as a travers on the diagonal. The shoulders must lead, but the hind end needs to follow too. I sit deeply and grow tall for the halts. Works every time, and horse is square. Halting doesn't come from the hands like many think, it is all from the seat.

Woow!! Check that dude out doing a canter half pass!!! How on Earth do you do those half passes in trot?? They are amazing. I envy how you can get your horse to halt from trot!!! Its great!!!!
