  • Why can´t anyone make an tutorial on this -.-

  • Wow dude you should be proud thats pretty incredible

  • how did u use voodooo and 3ds max when i did it it said i needed blender

  • Nice!

Im trying to do something similar but im a little stuck...

Ive tracked the video, imported it into 3ds max, done the background etc, but how do I place an object properly? It never seems to match up with the camera movements correctly :(

    Please help

  • @Trumple convert the fpoint cloud (voodoo_FP3D_cloud) in 3ds max into an editable poly, then select verticies and all the points will appear in your scene. then convert the object you are trying to place into an editable poly and attach it to the cloud. from there it is really easy to adjust it exactly. hope the help wasn't too late haha

  • @broadcastyamum Thanks very much, I will try it when I get time

  • well i would recommed boujor for your film but...ive heared its like 10,000 USD lol

  • i know...thats what i like about voodoo...its free

  • can you explain the "dummy selection" part... I've got the data in MAX but I still have to place the object and rotate them manually... why? txs from ITALY

  • What program did you use for the 3d animation? Blender, right?

  • hello bro its soo coool can u make a video tutorial? :)

  • This looks great, I have been wanting to try this. Does anyone know if you have to use after effects, or can you get by with just blender and voodoo.

  • hey man nice vid! PERFECT track from what I could see. Voodoo's website is down, so could u PM me a link to another site i could download it from?!

    Please!

  • lol kool

  • wow excellent work!!!

  • wow great job! what 3d animation software are you using? Ive tried 3d tracking but can never get the tracking data to work correctly. any tips on lighting or proper setup?

  • Thanks, I am using 3ds Max. There are several ways to match tracking data with your scene.

My method is to import the tracking data into Max; change perspective view to voodoo_cam, then as a background reference, I add the video (which we extracted the tracking data from). Switch the voodoo_cam view to wire frame mode this allows you to see the tracking points. Make sure you have selected the voodoo_scene dummy, now the hard part...match the tracking points to your video. Hope this helps!

  • haha yea that helps a bit. this 3d tracking thing is a bit difficult! originally i wanted to use the tracked data in after effects (for some text or particle fountains) but since im learning lightwave 3d i want to be able to import there.

i think my issues with tracking were improper light conditions and too shiny surfaces. thanks for the help!

  • @Grigori0s ah! i've been searching all over to find out how to make the fpoints show up in max. thank you very much!

  • @Grigori0s It looks great, I did the same things but my camera doesn't move at all in max, it has keys for each frame but no movement (not even in the track view , no curve) and when i switch to wire frame there's no tracking point in the scene. even if i place an object in front of the camera, the movie (background shows the animation) but the object stays still. I would appreciate an advice. Thanks

  • @alexandraconstantin I don't know if you already found a solution to your problem, but it looks like 'version incompatibility' to me. Check if your Voodoo plugin is 100% compatible with your 3DS Max version (Not known problems) or check the Voodoo export to script settings. Good luck!

PS - Can you see the Voodoo cam? Try using that camera as your view port.

  • @Grigori0s hey i am also using 3ds max + voodoo i get a very shakey track unlike yours any advice? i can show u a video if u need one

  • @bpp45 Could be a lot of reasons! Try to increase the tracking points of your solution.

  • @Grigori0s lol i fixed the problem a while a go but would you say the amount of track points you export would change the track?

  • @bpp45 It will definitely improve the tracking if the lack of points is your problem. However if that's not the case adding more will just be a waste of time. The question is "how many points per scene?"; It really depends on the complexity of the scene and your experience with the application.

  • @Grigori0s thanks for all your help im getting smooth camera tracks just like yours for your kindness il subscribe
