  • holy fuck. imagine someone saying anything even remotely similar to you. That was intense.

  • That's pretty cool for rob to tell buddy Jimmy that and congratulate him. I was so happy to c page as #3 of 100 best guitar players of all time on rolling stone. Good choice! I hope all is well between those 2 guys....

  • "Percy praises Pagey..."

    Lol.

Hammer of the Gods reference. That tiresome book inferred that the kielbasa down Percy's pants was man, not lunch, meat.

If nothing else, we have Tom Jones & Percy to thank for 40+ yrs of crotch stuffing by lead singers.

  • well said!

  • Has anybody seen the bridge?

    Cool, now wank off!

  • "I'm Robert Plant, and I'm a shaman. Buy World of Warcraft today"

  • Comment removed

  • Pfff. Clearly this comes from someone else. I presume the Lord of the Rings-writer. Robert, you just just have to say: 'you'r fucking good'.

  • RIP Jimmy Page

  • @cubicleclown1 ? ...Jimmy Page isn't dead

  • @cubicleclown1 He's not dead!

  • @cubicleclown1 Nice job fucking idiot.

  • @cubicleclown1 dude

  • Absinthedream, what an idiot, I wish you would shut up.

being influenced by great musicians is how it has always been and always will be. Jimmy is the greatest, shut up already.

  • Wayy to rehearsed. Not sincere at all! Lol this is like my girlfriend breaking up with me without being a bitch.

  • he speakwithout pauses and sooo beautiful!

  • i need a dictionary

  • funny he doesn't mention all the stuff page ripped off arggghhhhh what a load of tosh, robert plant dribbles more shit than a bog house in bedlam

  • well i heard they dislike eachother, from a guy who used to drink with him and reffers to him as 'percy' either this guy i know is full of shit, or plant is full of shit in this video for the cameras sake

  • He puts words together so poetically and gracefully, not just in lyric, but in his general speech. To say you can't get much better than Led Zeppelin is a severe understatement. Few music artists even dwell in their presence.

  • It doesn't happen but a few times in a person's lifetime... to witness and experience the melody of 4 musicians that took the world by storm, and continue to be one of the greats.

There are few bands that come to mind... Zeppelin, Beatles, Floyd, Stones and Hendrix.

To change genres for a moment... Jackson, Prince, and Eminem

They all have shaped music in one way or another....

Thank you for all the hours of pleasure your music gave us......

  • third best group in history

  • The tribute equivalent of gangsta gold rims and curb-feelers on a hearse - a ridiculous embarrassment. Plant never saw a word of this stinking pile until they sat him front of the camera. What a bunch of mushy, flabby mean-anything, mean-nothing words piled one on top of another. A steaming load of meaningless movie-star-style I-love-ya-baby crapola that only a PR-man could possibly come up with. I'm embarrassed for all concerned just to have heard it.

  • @jum1801 Oh shut up! Did you ever think he might have thought about these things for years but not said them? Are you in the presence of Robert now? Unless you are and you can turn to him and ask "Is this a load of 'mushy, flabby mean-anything, mean- nothing word piled on top of each other?" then you can shut your mouth. To you, this may be mushy, but I genuinely beleive they care for one another and until you can prove me wrong, keep your big mouth closed.

  • @MissBeatleBailey My comment has nothing to do with whether RP & JP care for each other - they obviously do.The fact RP had never uttered those words before he saw them on the cue card doesn't mean he's a bad person - it's just the Hollywood way, and yes, RP is a Hollywood kind of guy now. His time is too valuable to be spent writing some "tribute" for a tv program. That's what writers are for. I just wish they had done a better job, that's all.

  • @jum1801 I misread the comment, very sorry! I thought about it in a different light. He has become a Hollywood man, but can you blame him? His time is really valuable, not to say he is dying or anything, but he is getting old and we only have a limited amount of time left with RP on this Earth. And, the writers did fine in my opinion. I do wish they hadn't said the same things over and over again.

  • @MissBeatleBailey Someone admitting their wrong? ON YOUTUBE? This website needs more people like you, then maybe we wouldn't have so many pointless discussions in the comments :P

  • Thank you Robert. Well spoken.

  • Go back with Jimmy and work!

  • what a cute couple they are

  • The music industry doesn't want to crank out real music with soul, it's all backwards now. Bad is good, good is bad...there are no more 'Woodstocks', it's little criminal fest these days lol.

  • Robert Plant is a time travelling dandy from the medieval age.

I guess he is lost in the wrong time now. [Justin Bieber age]

  • @cinephilia1 did you just compare that stupid twat Bieber to plant? i am lost with words on that. Justin is a little faggot. hang Justin Bieber in a tree from his feet.he sucks

  • elequant

  • If only i could believe Plant wrote that speech himself. Probably nicked it off Little Walter or Willie Dixon again.

  • @HarrisonPaniszczyn

    Good one.

    :)

  • What a great tribute. He's so articulate! I love Led Zeppelin. Always have, always will!

  • He's in love with words. You only have to listen to Stairway to Heaven or Going to California to realise he's a great lyricist.

  • I love Page but I can't stand this poser...

  • Articulate & well said...Jimmy you are legendary!

  • Now get out and tour with Jimmy where you should be.

  • Is he a poet or what?

  • @PraveenKD27 He is a lyricist...

  • Only those born in the 50s or older got to live it,

    .sorry youngsters

  • @solomonsworld Yeah. We got the tail end of a dead era; the auditory feces of a global plutocracy in control of all that is doled out to the lowest common denominator. I feel great sorrow for those younger than I(close to 30). But music, like literature, can stand the test of time. Kids these days make me feel "cool." Sad........

  • What a moving and eloquent tribute to Jimmy Page....

  • how gay is that

  • @wwwonderful what a silly comment that is.

  • @chester57ify I'm so proud that I moved you

  • Prof. Plant. Well done.

  • Well why the fuck don't you ever play with him anymore, Rob?!

  • um has he died or something?

  • I watched this entire video hoping to hear robert say the word "muggle"

  • This made my life.

  • Well said. The challenge for everyone is to respect J.P. without compare, for that is what his work is.

More over: not only is J.P.'s work from a place "beyond music" it is the most distinct music composition on guitar, and perhaps, any instrument ever accomplished since the days of the great classics. And, not even the classics could summon the originality with witch J.P. plays.

Beyond a virtuoso, beyond an innovator, "visionary" is the word that best describes this incomparable musician.

  • i agree with Mr Plant, R.I.P Jimmy Savile

  • thats what geniuses sound like when they talk to each other!

  • wow. our singer usually tells me to fuck off.

  • To all the Zeppelin wannabe's out there. If you don't have a lead singer that is this articulate, you will NEVER make it!

  • damn robert respect bro you and jimmy are to brilliant peeps rock on!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Robert plant has a talent that matches Jimmy page. Without Robert Plant, We would'nt have the Led Zeppelin we all love. Great musicians one and all. Thanks for the music guys :)

  • @liverpoolsammy All 4 were amazing, John Paul Jones always gets left out, you should listen to his solo stuff, incredible.

  • @TheF86Sabre The Lemon Song!

  • @liverpoolsammy Couldn't have said it better! I got the Zeppelin DVD set for Christmas and have played it over and over - Jimmy's exquisite guitar playing and Percy's colorful poetic lyrics mixed with Jonesy's multiple instrumental talents and Bonzo's pulsating drum mastery were like no other. They're terribly missed by us all.

  • Robert has to kiss ass to stay in Jimmy's band, the day when they get back together... hehehe

  • He is taking the piss.

  • great Robby

  • Delightfully eloquent ending on wtf!

  • So can we safely say Robert is a fan?

  • you'd think Jimmy was dead!

  • I wish more artists who possess these skills would demonstrate them as they've been reveled here for their fans.

  • I just came after watching this. Thanks, Robert, you literary devil you.

  • Ah Marrikesh market!!!

  • After this Plant laughed and said "Wtf?"

  • 38 people couldn't handle his vast amount of descriptive words.

  • Hey Robert fuck you dude ...I'll never forget how you made every male fan stair at your cock for The song remains the shame Wtf were you thinking , btw some nicely crafted words for Jimmy cool

  • .... i wish i could talk like that to mind fuck my english teacher...

  • @Mikethekiller7 It's not that hard

  • @Mikethekiller7 what did u mean?

  • @Mikethekiller7 use some wild alliteration like "colorful complementary construction" and then you can say you fucked your english teacher. wait what?

  • @Mikethekiller7 No offense intended, but you'll have to polish and refine your command of the English language to have the ability to do so.

Unless, of course, you're making a sarcastic statement about the beauty of simplicity in language such as Hemingway.

  • @pectinmania I didnt not take offense, I believe you have a valid point. Most Americans dont attempt to articulate thier words in a fashion to where they may sound sophiscated. Americans dont understand the power of a wide vocabulary and there should be more emphsis on expanding the youths vocaublary at a younger age. I wish i could talk as fluently as Robert did. Thats what makes him such a powerful song writer, he is smart, not just a stoner like many artist of this time.

  • @Mikethekiller7 Me too!!!

  • AWESOME, GREETINGS FROM MEXICO!

  • how much did you get paid for your delivery of such obnoxious compliment.

you have to understand Robert, ass kissers are looser.

  • @MrAllenjross If being a loser means having a country estate and millions in the bank after a career having a ball playing with one of the best bands in rock, then it doesn't look like such a bad thing. Meanwhile, on Monday I go back for another torture session at the office ... I wouldn't mind being as much of a loser as Robert ...

  • Comment removed

  • @AlmostEthical

okay, I rarely cuss on here, BUT WHO IN THE FUCK CALLED ROBERT PLANT A LOSER?

And Led Zeppelin wasn't just one of the best rock bands in the world.

THEY WERE THE BEST! And let me tell you something else, out of all the bands that I have ever heard/seen, Led Zeppelin was one band that NEVER depressed me. Their music inspired young people to LIVE and ENJOY LIFE! NO! There is NO WAY that Robert Plant is a loser. HE'S THE BEST MAN!

  • @guitarttimman I think you have completely misunderstood my reply to MrAllenjross. I've always enjoyed Zep's music. I think Since I've been Loving You and The Rain Song were Zep's an Jimmy's finest moments - fantastic music.

Allen seemed to say Robert was an "ass kisser" and a "looser" and I was saying Robert P is as far from being a loser as it's possible to be.

Allen, correct me if I'm wrong.

PS. Shouting obscenities on YouTube (especially at middle aged women) isn't very classy.

  • @AlmostEthical

Actually, I wasn't directing that at you in a bad way! I was, in fact, supporting what you typed.

I was just expressing my anger at "whoever" it was you were referring to who disrespected Robert.

so, LOL, for crying out loud. Let's calm down! ha ha ha

  • @guitarttimman I AM CALM!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAACCCKKKKK!!!!

    :)

  • @guitarttimman ...You rarely cuss on here? Aren't you that shitty guitar player who would always post trolls on Guthrie Govan's videos?

  • @the9ingredients

Oh yeah really shitty huh? I invite anyone to come check out me playing "Twilight" and that came pretty darn close to getting me on England's Guitar Idol! yep, and I've sold CD's too! oh well!

    LOSER!

  • @guitarttimman Cool story bro... you seemed to have evaded my question, though.

  • @the9ingredients

you don't start a fight with an Indian and just walk away! :-)

  • @the9ingredients

Oh you're confusing me with moondancer33.

His name is Matt and he hates Guthrie.

    Personally, I am a fan of Guthrie's. There's none better! :-)

  • Plant rules, and when hasn't he? I say this as a guy whom Jimmy Page inspired to pick up the guitar in the early 90's. Thanks for posting this.

  • that's all good and well but John Paul Jones had mucho talent also and went pretty much unoticed by plant and pages egotistic brotherhood

  • @botaduck Bassists never get the love. But I'm sure everyone appreciates JPJ.. at least I hope so.

  • Better words could not be spoken.

  • "The chains of repetition and mediocrity..."

    Oh, you mean Rap!

  • @zippyman818 ooooooooohhhh haha

  • Robert Plant is a blowhard.

  • Who ever disliked this, is a fucking idiot.

  • Who is COOLER than Robert Plant? :)

  • @Scarlett4Zanzibar Jimmy Paige:)

  • Respond to this video... eppelinm does not lend itself to oldness. Zeppelin is about youth , being vital and crazy and exubeant .. I think Plant is embarrassed to portray Plant of 1972 and I do not blame him

  • @RisingSon011 eppelinm???? WTH??? I think Plant is embarrassed to portray Plant of 1972 and I do not blame him... Nonsense.....

  • @jhan76 why then do u suppose he will not tour with a reformed Led Zeppelin ? Do you think it is because he is just so dedicated to American roots music now that he just hates loud music and must 'keep moving forward musically " as he says? If that's so , good for him .I am not in favor of a reformed Led Zeppelin touring for just the reason I stated earlier , because I think it comes off ridiculous when a 65 yr old man with any dignity, as Plant has, sings 'Black Dog. Plant would agree

  • @RisingSon011 @RisingSon011 Humm.. I kind of see what you're saying. Does he want to keep moving forward musically? Sure.. I would say he has even since the 60's, whatever the context. That certainly doesn't mean he would be embarrassed by anything he did those days. Far from it. In fact, in all the incarnations/projects he's done, he always brings out some of who we was. Why? That's who he is. He still sings Black Dog though :-) I can't post the link but check out RB and Alison Krauss

  • @jhan76 he does the songs sure , but not in the totally over the top hedonistic Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin kind of way . I dont think he is or should be embarrassed by any of the things he did with Zep , (except maybe the infamous bleached crotch blue jeans) but I do think he'd feel a bit strange doing what he did then , and giving fans what he thinks they would expect at a LZ show. I respect the man and his music. I have the Krauss/Plant album and I really like it

  • @RisingSon011" except maybe the infamous bleached crotch blue jeans"..LOL,, Totally agree with you there!!!

  • the greatist vocalist of all time ... led zep rule..

  • wow, nothing else to say.

  • where's the O2 concert video already????

  • sounds like roberts giving jimmys funeral tribute to me but wait jimmys not dead yet good words from rp but i think he should have saved them for a tribute to jimmy in the future and why is led zepp not touring or making albulms again ive seen the runion footage and they rocked its not fair we dont even get a dvd released will we have to wait another 30 years for that hopefully they will play together again

  • Well, Percy could do us all a big favour and join up again with Jp, JPJ and JB and Tour. I'd love to see them again. Earls Court in 1975 was so long ago. It was there last night and the only time I got to see them 'Live'. Jimmy Page - what a fantastic 'live' guitarist. Les Paul hanging around his knees and pulling solos out of songs that didn't seem to support a solo. Mesmeric. Once more please.....please....please....

  • thought it was a bunch of crap, hes been beggin you to play with him,,show some respect,,after all jimmy made you what you are,,,mr plant

  • The contrast was the compliment

  • And now the kids would say "U da bomb man, innit!"

How sad that being educated, erudite and the best at what you do are no longer seen as something to aspire to. I tried to be as good as them. I failed, but I tried. I still made a decent living and had a great time.

Ahh...fu*k it! I've just let myself get old and judgemental...dazed and confused, even... :-)

  • they should start a band and get the bassist from them crooked valtures

  • @whelmers1 You are joking right?

  • i love them.

  • Very nice tribute from RP.

  • Robert was the other half of the equation for bringing jimmy's genius to fruition with exceptional vocal ability & lyrical colour & vision......not to mention the best rythym section ever..........hear hear.....all hail the gods of valhalla

  • praise from one legend to another!

  • Ok then please for all of us ..... World tour, Can I just start sending you my paychecks you so I can get to one of the shows.... We all miss you guys. We need the thunder to rain down again..... One else can be zeppelin but you guys..... Jason is ready for Dads shoes, he has earned them.

  • "Nobody goes down heavier than Led Zeppelin" :-)

    Robert Plant is a rock ' n' roll god.Definitely a true artist.

  • Ok great Robert. Then why won't you play with him again?

  • @xboxdragondude when I saw him in The Song Remains the Same I knew it was him.. :))

  • WOW,..THAT WAS GREAT!!,..

  • We need his voice to open the stairway to heaven :D

  • very weird and very rehearsed, still they were fucking brilliant.

  • stride to resolve imperfection i love the plant

  • Do you really have to be inspired to rip off old blues players? Plant is blowing smoke up ours asses.

  • @DONDIVA1969 you're an idiot

  • I think Axl Rose said that about Slash?Didn't he?

  • @tejedadude Lol

  • Robert Plant you seem to struggle with your words about Jimmy Page.

You're trying so desperately to come accross as sincere but when I look

into "Thine" eyes .... I see "thy" deception. I sense you have not only abandoned

the "Honourable" "Sir" Jimmy Page twice .... but "thrice". I "hereby" exhalt thee of thine pathetic attempt to "hinder" the genious and multi-diciphonary juxtapositions of talent that is THINE Honourable Sir Jimmy Page. Thou Shalt not sacrifice THY ill conceived sincerity.

  • 36 people suck cock and like it

  • This is a very well written and well spoken tribute to a friend and band mate.

  • only jealous minds who know little of the wealth of music these (Led Zeppelin) have brought to music would say anything low here. You only do this to yourselves, this man is erudite and wise, a gentleman in a world full of musical thugs and amateurs.

  • you could just said: You're f****** awesome bro =P

  • I love you Robert

  • Blah blah. Enough praise. He ísn't God Himself.

  • @royalsteven Sure he is.

  • That is like blasphemy saying someone who is against God, is God.

  • Oh the grace and resect that comes with age :o)

  • HaHaHa so fake

  • ???

    why do you say that?

  • @KLthebig He dislikes jimmy :P he just did this to make money

  • @OctZide He doesn't need the money. Whether he likes him or not isn't the question. He's intelligent enough to have respect for a colleague he has worked with for years

  • haha the funny thing is that he hates jimmy page...........

  • @gingerbasser1975 Why is that?

  • @geirart because he spent so much time with him touring if u read their true comments during interviews you can tell that they dont like eachother

  • @gingerbasser1975 These guys, at times, spent more time together than some married couples. They became adults together Yes, perhaps in the past, they disliked each other, hated at times but also loved as friends and at the end of the day, it's time to set aside all the shit and you're left with respect for another great musician.

  • @fraya1400 u have a great point and i stand by what you and i say do u play an instrument

  • @gingerbasser1975 Hi G. Thanks for the comment. I play the drums but not that well. I wouldn't call myself a 'drummer' or a musician. I believe the latter is someone who has musical abilities to their core and couldn't live without being able to play or write. What about yourself? Your 'name' seems to indicate the bass. And what about the 'Ginger'? Is this hair colour or perhaps... A certain 'Mr Baker' of Cream fame. Are you old enough to remember them? I do but then I'm ancient lol. :P

  • @gingerbasser1975 Shame. You're channel isn't available. I was hoping to check out what kind of stuff you like :o)

  • @gingerbasser1975 When you say 'read' their comments, I'm a little sceptical. If there's one thing the press do it's to blow everything out of proportion. If there's a vid on YouTube with one or both recently saying "I hate...." I'd believe it but otherwise, I stand by my previous comment beginning 'These guys, at times, spent...' etc. :o)

  • how did he not breakdown while saying this

  • common fuck this, give us rock and roll :D zep 4 ever

  • WHAT A DICKHEAD , still milking a group that broke up 30 odd years ago,the fake cunt

  • Well, Sir Robert -aka Golden God, and a lyrical giant in the best tradition, your tribute to Page was quite fitting, and well spoken. There would be no Zeppelin without any one of the original four, as the perfection of musical alchemy was achieved within that vehicle of expression. No musical force had ever crossed the continents before in such a way, and not one since that Im aware of. Without words to express the guitarists emotion, there would be no focal point for the overall gift.

  • ... too scripted, but expected from Percy, its how he rolls

  • The most erudite essence of personal poetry I have ever heard.

    Brilliant!

I am dumbstruck by the intelligence of your sobriquet.

Awesome! Dude Robert Plant.... On Jimmy Page Friends for the Ages.

    Ulric(Seattle)

  • god bless you Robert..we love you..so much...

  • Hail Theoden King :))

great words from a great man for a great man as well ^^

  • @kravenkorvinus LMFAO

  • I absolutely love Zep, but this is toe-curling.

  • @kettlezone why?

  • @18elana Because it's like those fake speeches people say before reading out the Grammy nominations - totally cringeworthy!
