  • "We repealed "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" once and for all." - Barack Obama

    >gay sailor party that day on every Naval base

  • The UK lifted the the ban in 2000 which is embarrassing!

  • i see a dike!

  • @michaelsavageisgreat wow. you are so mature.

  • Imagine 13.000 people dischaged because they are gay! They were willing to serve, they were willing to save, they were willing to give their own lives! How stupid, discriminatory and blind can this get? We are not gay...we are PEOPLE!!!

  • I'm a spaniard, I'm bisexual, I have equality in my country but I STILL give a damn about equality in the US.

  • this bitch is either stupid or hypocritical. even if the military stopped discriminating against homosexuals she would STILL be a second class citizen in their eyes because she's a woman. women still face discrimination, where's the media hoopla about that? the DADT repeal does not give lesbians equal rights. sorry but it's a fact that lesbians are still women. they don't seem to know that. maybe gays really don't give a damn.

  • @froggymicwop are you jealosu of the gay rights lol?!

  • @noreexic are you completely ignorant? equality is not about jelousy, retard. it's not ok to deny groups of people rights and it's hypocritical to defend one group's right to equality and not defend another. i can't believe i have to point that out to you but i guess some people really are this stupid. i guess to you, gays are just jelous of black people having equal rights, huh?

  • @froggymicwop u seemed to get angry about woen not being mentioned wen it was a video about gay rights........

  • @moroney1 what the hell is a woen?

  • @froggymicwop My problem was u seemed bitter over this charity, giving out about the fact that women's rights were not mentioned - 'where's the media hoopla about that?', when this video was a more general discussion on 'gay' rights not just womens. And how are gays jealous a black rights to me?! I just gfelt it was not the right place to criticise wat u felt was the lack of discussion on women's issues on this video, wen it was about the LGBTQ community, i dnt get tht

  • @moroney1 you're right, you clearly DON'T get it. and i will not waste my time explaining something you're too thick to understand.

  • @froggymicwop ouchness, angry much?

  • @froggymicwop

You are a disgrace to those who support the don't ask don't tell policy...

  • @simplesnip3z first off, i'm not a disgrace to anyone. people who support discrimination are the disgrace. second, i don't even support dadt so where the hell is your logic?

  • @froggymicwop yes. she would still be a woman. but unlike the fact she is part of the LGBT community, the fact that she is female would not in it self get her discharged from the military. She might be a second class member of the military, and she might not, but the key words there are MEMBER OF THE MILITARY, at least she would have a choice regarding whether or not she stays in. Or do you think that because she is a woman she is to stupid to make that decision for herself?

  • She's really cool!

  • DADT Is over

  • You have to remember it's not about not outing yourself it's about being terrified of being outed. Someone doesn't like you and they start rumors that you are gay. Then that goes up the ladder and you get sent to the office and you are told that you have been dishonorably discharged. Your whole life you want to be in the military. Since you were very young that is what you wanted to do with your life. And it's all over because of one thing. It's tragic.

  • @imchillyb It's not a choice. I didn't think I was ranting OR raving. o_O The military doesn't allow aberrant behavior of any sort? So you think they want cookie-cutter soldiers that are all the same and act all the same and don't have any "abnormal" or unique thoughts? Cool, robots! :)

Wow, you really seem to like conformity, huh? So right-handed people are "normal" and left-handed people are aberrant?

  • Comment removed

  • @imchillyb Actually I do... and many soldiers need the ability to use their own brains to analyze individual situations and act on it. The military would throw someone out because of their likes and dislikes? I just don't see how someone's sexual orientation has something to do with discipline and order.

  • Comment removed

  • @Minoko1teddy This discussion is not about what I like or dislike. It is about the false assumption that people are not being treated equally. Every man and woman in the military is being treated exactly the same. The ones that chose to act abnormally are singled out and dismissed. I personally don't care if you wish to have sex with a dog. The military, however, would dismiss you in a heartbeat for that. Why? It is aberrant behavior. Why do they care? Discipline and order. That's why

  • @imchillyb "Normal is what everyone else is and you are not"? Are you kidding me? How old are you? ...because that is easily the most immature argument I've heard all year. Our varying human sexual behavior (between consenting adults) makes us nothing more than unique, and certainly not abnormal. Interracial dating was once seen as "aberrant", but almost no one (in America, which is where we live, right?) would think very highly of someone who would openly espouse that belief today. Grow up.

  • Comment removed

  • @imchillyb It *was* an argument, just an argument that you made for the advocates of the policy rather than the policy itself... and honestly, there's no difference between the two. You shouldn't think of homosexuality as "just sex", because you're talking about someone's entire life. So if your idea of "growing up" is to "accept reality", meaning to accept things at face value without challenge just because someone told you "that's the way it is", then maybe I am the one who needs to "grow up".

  • @cathlicscholboy4life Technically, being unique is abnormal -- connotations aside. Don't mistake my intentions however, I completely agree with you.

  • More people would probably join if they didn't have to hide who they are. And really, any good soldier would not even care about someone's sexuality. War is about protecting innocent people (hopefully, anyways), not talking about sex. I don't even know why having openly gay and lesbian people in the military is a problem. Sexuality is just not something that should be an issue or even something we think about much when we should be focusing on winning a war or defending the country.

  • Comment removed

  • @imchillyb Do you have the desire to do that? Because not everybody does, not all lesbians OR all straight men. She isn't asking for special treatment, but equal treatment. Is Don't Ask Don't Tell NOT talking about sexual preference? It IS, and it's targeting homosexuals by treating them as less than heterosexual soldiers. And don't think all homosexuals are discharged because of something THEY did. People could find out w/o being explicitly told. (Continued)

  • @imchillyb Heaven forbid homosexuals should want to defend their country. Really, I don't know why they would want to, with people like you treating them worse than dirt, but I guess they probably want to defend their families and friends. Asking for equal rights is unacceptable to you? Wow. So women should not have fought for the right to vote? African Americans should not have fought to end segregation?

  • I give a BIG damn and I'm calling my senators. America, this is so shameful and we need to demand repeal of DADT!!!

  • SEPARATE IS NEVER EQUAL, President Obama

sign the EO allowing these Americans to serve openly

  • @emeraldshine You are so right! Singling people out because of their equality is wrong.

  • they fight for our freedom but they cant have the right to be free and love who they love. i would love for them to be able to have there loved ones see them get home and kiss them like there str8 peears love is love why try and make it blind

  • Im a US Marine, AND I GIVE A DAMN!

lol jk i dont give a fuck, but i do think your ALL idiots for talking about things you've never done!

  • @mikefnm Why do you hate American troops? They are fighting for your ignorant ass to be free to hate them. How nice.

  • i know that once your in a foxhole taking enemy fire and watching your friends get shot up and the one person covering fire with you is gay, you wouldnt give a shit what his sexual preferance is.

  • @constipatedseal2 You'll change ur mind when u have to shower next to him or sleep in the same hut, and when was the last time U were in a foxhole?

  • @StukaAttacks88 The only time you shower with others in the military is in basic training. You also have to shower next to blacks, latinos, and *gasp!* atheists! If you can't deal with that, then you aren't mature enough to join the military.

  • @jstutz2003 go to afghan, they tell me if your statement is true or not

  • @StukaAttacks88 I have friends and co-workers going and returning from Afghanistan and Iraq all the time. As Fuels we are one of the first ones in and the last ones out. Even at bare bases you do not have to share showers. Know your shit before opening your mouth.

  • @jstutz2003 thats after KBR gets there

  • YOu were a fucking officer and probably sat on your ass all day while your troops died.

No one is going to cry for the hardships you didn't have you dumb bitch.

  • Suckers!

Fool you once, fool you twice, fool you 18 months.

It’s November, Time for Tick off the Gays for Votes Campaign.

Republicans are the bad guys. Did Democrats had 60 votes at one time?

It’s a republican judge Vaugh Walker that over turn Pro 8. That’s action over speech.

    Again, thanks for voting

    Suckers, Suckers, Suckers

  • @yesilike101 You mean the Republicans that voted unanimously in September NOT to end DADT? Boy, they sure are all for the troops and all about keeping the "gubment" out of our lives...

  • This is why I'm not in the military, why the fuck would I sacrifice myself to protect a country that doesn't recognize me for who I am. Waste of my life.

  • @toadfan64 i agree with everyone that is sending you comments that you are an ass!!! just because a guy is gay and you are showering with him, does not mean that he will make a pass on you!!!! he probably has a type, and you, believe it or not, are more than likely not his type - even if you yourself, was gay!!!!

  • Those who were actually serving in Iraq and Afghanistan really didn't want repeal of DADT by clear numbers. Also you would need to get separate showers etc. There isn't that much difference between right of hetero females NOT to shower with hetero males as the right of hetero servicemen NOT to shower with homosexual of same sex.

  • @teemu21 Source: Zogby poll 2006

  • Oh, and also I would never want to shower with a gay man

  • @toadfan64 You're an idiot.

  • @toadfan64 well to bad, you will just have to get over your homophobia

  • @toadfan64 LMAO, like anyone would wanting to shower with you.

  • Well take it from this point (I'll keep it short for word limit) for people who are homophobic, which there are a lot of people in the military that are, if in casual conversation it comes up that a person is gay and the homophobic person hears it they may beat the shit out of them, or ridicule them for their stay, while if they never bring up their homosexual, the person will be able to have a safe stay in the military, and possibly make it easier for them.

  • @toadfan64 They should be safe anyway, because people should be able to control themselves! My opinion is that if someone is in the military, they are there to protect our rights and freedom, not to beat the shit out of one of their fellow soldiers because they don't agree with who that person loves. And is it easier to watch all your fellow soldiers say goodbye to and talk about their husbands and wives, and not be able to do the same regarding their partners? Is it easier to lie and pretend?

  • @toadfan64 - what about racists in the military? sexists? anti-semites? anti-muslim? these people are no doubt in the service, but are able to control themselves. i wonder why homophobes would have such trouble?

  • @toadfan64 Even though that comment sounded compassionate (I'm not sure that it actually was), it still means that gay soldiers should somehow live their public lives in fear of being outed or beat up. Let's first of all remember that these are soldiers, and I doubt they'd be afraid or unable to defend themselves from a homophobe, which apparently about 12% of the troops are according to the military DADT study. Secondly, hiding in fear and being forced to lie about your life is no way to live.

  • I give a damn. Senator Wyden of Oregon has already delivered a speech supporting the repeal, but I e-mailed him anyway. He already supports equal rights, so I didn't think I had to call him, but I didn't just want to sit here and do nothing, either.

  • I give a damn.

  • what do i do if im not an amirican and i give a damn?

  • @sionv2009 thank God you don't live here...

  • @sionv2009 good point!!! Im not American and I give a damn too!!!

  • @sionv2009 First you can learn to spell. Eurofag.

  • @ihatefattyslol im not europian. it was a piny mistype anyway.

  • @sionv2009

First, you should be smart enough to type out a simple sentence.

Second, look at the other side of things, not just one side of the argument.

  • @simplesnip3z sorry, typo! *American.

What's the other side of the argument? ...hold on, what's the argument anyway?

  • Bravo!!!!!!! Thank you for your sacrifices! Repeal it now!

  • "Before Canada lifted its gay ban, a 1985 survey of 6,500 male soldiers found that 62% said that they would refuse to share showers, undress or sleep in the same room as a gay soldier. After the ban was lifted, follow-up studies found no increase in disciplinary, performance, recruitment, sexual misconduct, or resignation problems."

  • "A study of gays and lesbians in the Canadian military has found that after Canada’s 1992 decision to allow homosexuals to serve openly in its armed forces, military performance did not decline."

  • @kyoyukidegus kyoykidegus, not a very good argument. Canada's military performance CANNOT decline, it is already useless and lives under the U.S. nuclear umbrella protection and has since 1945 at solely American taxpayer expense. Try using a good military like Israel or the Aussies when you try to make a point..When the flammers start hitting on young hetero men, will you afford them the same protection you give women who are offended by men? I doubt it. The straight men will be "insensitive."

  • I'm straight and a member of the Active Duty Air Force and I give a damn! My fellow troops are my brothers and sisters, regardless of race, religion, sex, sexuality, or background. Stop the discrimination!

  • @jstutz2003 You've just become my hero! I wish more people were like you.

  • I give a damn!

  • I give a damn!

  • I give a damn!

  • i give a damn

  • I saw your story on In the Life and was most touched when you said that when leaving for Iraq... you couldn't say goodbye to your partner like other spouses or straight soldiers. Your courage and service should be rewarded and not punished. This is a disgrace to Americans and the idea of true freedom.

Don't give up the fight. You will be reinstated someday soon.

  • That's pathetic that the government would do this.

But I appreciate your service -- thank you.

PS. I will be calling later.

  • Great video!

  • I appreciate your service and I think you & many others have been done wrong. You can bet I give a damn, and WILL call my senator and demand that Don't Ask, Don't Tell be repealed.
