Russia has always been the worst enemy of the Caucasus people and has been responsible for colonising and extorting them for centuries, and it HASN'T ENDED. lol good point! i was in hong kong when this all began, so i wasn't hearing western media which often likes to vilainize russia, still. at the time georgians were exchanging fire with south ossetian rebels, THEN georgia began shelling tskhinval and other civilian targets, even opening fire at fleeing civilians. you can ask ossetians, they ran from georgian troops. who were US armed and trained. pretty scary stuff. it wasn't until georgians began taking civilian lives to get russia to help.
