I have i 1000D at the moment, and i know i guy who is seling one in great condition for £400 with battary grip, should i get it? Im in collage doing a BETC in photography (just to give you an idea where im at)

I don't know the used value of these, I would check completed items in ebay to see if 400 is the average or above or below value price. Also since you are a college student you can get the video from us at half price if interested.

As for me, i prefer Canon 450D because canon 40D has uncomfortable controls: you will always select how to operate in camera's menu with knob or joystick. Canon 450D has more clear controls - 5 navigation buttons.

These guys rock and their videos are worth every penny. I have one for my XTi and just teed up the 40D. It's like having a private lesson vs reading the manual.

i really like the big 3 inch lcd screen but its a little soft

Suprised is dosen't have a flip out screen like the fuji finepix s9600 because it's realy helpfull when your shooting at a low height with a tripod or if you find it diffcuilt to kneel down. i was saving for one of those but my bloody pc broke and i need new laptop to but my editing programs on!! just have to wait another year or so :(

I am not photographer, but I've wanted to upgrade from a point and shoot. The Canon EOS 40D is sold out all over NY.

I happened to call a store just for the heck of it and they had ONE left. And after I bought it, their website showed: Sold Out.

So there's a REAL photographer somewhere out there anxious to get the Canon 40D, and an amateur hobbyist like me snatched the last one up. Oh well. Sorry :)
