  • Like if kimball sent you here

  • so plate tectonics is a theory

  • Hi all, just trying to spread the word about a new project that's being put together - a community website based around our planet. It's at earth-forums (dot) com, so maybe check it out if you get a chance! :)

  • Hi, apologies for the random comment, but we have just started an ambitious new community website based around our planet, and wanted to let people know who might be interested. It's at earth-forums (dot) com. We hope you like it!

  • @aegir12012 India is on a separate plate originating from southern Africa and Australia. It moved into Asia millions of years ago and is still moving northwards, pushing up the Himalayas higher and higher. The Himalayas is the fault line between the Asian and Indian plates.

  • If you think THIS is interesting then you need to consider what the Impact and Exit Event theory has to say. The theory is a facinatingly new concept which adopts and refines Plate Tectonics while acknowledging the possibility of some of what is in the above video. In my opinion the impact and exit event has expanded our understanding of what causes plate tectonics, and what is likely to happen to Earth in the future. Well worth a read.

  • Naturally, of course, the ground shook. Can't beat that. Want a PDE? Sure... "the moving finger writes". She's dead. Anyone wanna be a Princess? ALL ABOARD!

You're all lovely, like Diana. "The moving finger writes". Here's your blood money collector plate back, MI5.... the ground shook.

  • this vid and the comments help more than my teacher does!:)

  • Hello 3 central if any of you are watching.

  • No such thing as PT. Where is the subduction occuring? Why is the ocean floor so young? Everything is moving away from everything else. Oldest marine fossils are found on land. How is this possible?

PT is BS the earth is expanding.

  • thanks

  • 2:55

It says when continents converge, as with India and Asia. How so? India is in Asia, so did they mean India and China, or Nepal?

  • .I Know That What They Are Sayin In This Video Is True Because,My Teacher Taught Me Everything That Is In This Video! For An Example:When The Arrows Are Pointing To Each Other It Is Forming A Mountain. {&} At Th Beggining Of This Video It Tells You About The Greater Lake That Exploded In A Volcanoe Wich It Eventually Filled In With Water!

  • carpet abuse 3:17 XD

  • gooood ork....thanxxx

  • one quick look at an antarctic ice core data sheet reveals that CO2 levels usually never went above 300 parts per million in the last 400,000 years, current CO2 levels are at 392 parts per million and rising.

when enough ice has melted off of antarctica and the earths crust springs up there will be cracks in the earths crust worldwide. this is no doom and gloom warning, this is science fact.

  • exlposions do not form calderas. geology lesson fail.

  • why didn't India crumple up like the carpet ?

  • @dickieperia It did. Look at the nothern part, the world's highest mountains.

  • got Jesus ?

  • yes

  • this is boring ihave to get on here science... ughhh so mad!

  • THANX IT I S SO HELPFULL

  • As compared to other structures in universe, earth is a insignificant and failed rock, so it deserves to be wiped out from solar system/milky way. Sun and Moon should stop helping earth in sustaining life.

  • Riggggght.

  • @udhammachao SO YOU WANT TO DIE. WHAT ARE YOU SMOKING AND ARE YOU IN A CULT

  • if you dont like it here, please, feel free to leave;)

  • Good clear example.

  • did she die?

  • @sigmurusu why would you say that

  • "check out neal adams for the truth"

    The truth about what?

Where do I "check (him) out"?

  • So I should take the word of some comic book aristist over the carefully reseached and documented works of thousands of geologists over the past century? Yeah that will happen sparky.

  • I've actually been to the canyon and seen what vulcanism has taken place....long ago. If it were a rift valley as the Afar, or the Jordan there would be much more seismic activity. There is little. The geology of plate tectonics is well established and doesn't require the suspension of the laws of physics to make things happen. And BTW, the Pacific is shrinking while the Atlantic is expanding at a rate of 1/2" a year.

  • This video is a good one.

    (: thanks .

i needed to see a quick but good video for a science event thing.

  • nice example

  • climatic change can't be assossiated with single phenomenon, it depends on numerous aspects such as wobbling of earth's axis, mountain formation, sea level, atmosphere

if plate motion effects air dynamics then climate is likely to change.

everest's growth must be very slow, so it can't be a result of today's rapid change.

  • I know Australia is moving upwards, could these plate movements be mistaken for climate change? Everest is growing higher.
