  • Not to sound stupid but I'm intrested in both film (producing and writing) and Acting..is there any way to study both at tisch?

  • @HollywoodGirl2104 No, unfortunately. Both programs are SO so intensive, that it would be quite impossible to do both.

  • also i wanna become a flim director and get adimmeted into tisch

  • how do you get into nyu because ive slways dreamed of getting into this school tis school is my dream come true im just in the 8th grade and i wanted to know any adivce for me btw im a abc"s student......

  • which camera did you use?

  • @CRAZiMaRix3 what were your grades like if you don't mind me asking?

  • @AshleyNReed 3.67, but a 3.89 junior year

  • is it easier to get into NYU tisch as a freshman or transfer student? considering my grades were simply SHITTY in high school and really high at my current university?

  • @thewhitetable Definitely as a freshman. Just think about it this way: the acceptance rate is 3.3% when all spots are empty. When there are almost no spots, the acceptance rate drops to nearly zero.

  • @CRAZiMaRrix3 wait the acceptance rate for a freshman is 3.3% or as a transfer student?

  • I don't know if you saw what else I wrote below, I also suggested to others about SVA "School of Visual Arts". They have good programs too, and its a little easier to get into. Hope this doesn't turn into too much of a debate btw SVA and NYU. Ha Ha!

  • My advice to anyone who wants to apply to NYU is that unless you have extremely good grades, SATS, and credentials, you are better off applying as an undeclared major or undecided in general. NYU has gotten extremely competitve to get into. The Stern School of Business and Tisch School are the most difficult programs to get into. I know that it might suck not to be in your major when come in as a freshman, but once you get into NYU, you can always transfer into Tisch while you are at NYU.

  • @BigBob1079 For the class of 2014, Tisch film had a 3.3% acceptance rate. I don't even want to know what the transfer acceptance rate would be.

  • @CRAZiMaRrix3

Wow, I didn't know that the Film Program is that competitive now. I know that NYU has opened up a AA Liberal Arts Degree Program for people who apply and didn't get into their anticipated Major, but NYU still wants then as students. I heard that you can't apply directly to the Liberal Arts Program, but they will offer you a spot in that position if they decide not to fully reject you. Its like being put on a waiting list for two years while you do your liberal arts classes.

  • @BigBob1079 Be careful with that. Since there are nearly no spots in Tisch programs after freshman year due to a nearly 0% drop-out rate, it is difficult to transfer. You are not simply switching your major, but switching schools.

  • Continued from last message: Another option is to look into the School of Visual Arts. SVA. Its still in New York City, and has a great Film and Photography Program. They are strict on Portfolios, but not as Strict on Academics as NYU.

  • Hi, really good video, congratulations!

How did you choose your music? Was it composed by you or did you find it in the web?

  • what was your gpa? please answer

  • wow this good what camara did you use

  • Do you know what the minimum GPA and SAT score is to get in?

  • I love using Kevin MacLeod's music/

  • Hi, I am looking to apply to NYU. I am a senior with a GPA about 3.5. I know I can impress them with the film application process. I'm putting my heart into it, and i've spent about $1,200 on equipment already, but I'm worried about my GPA. Do you think I even have a chance of getting in with a 3.5? I took my ACT last weekend too, and I hope that is good enough as well.

  • isnt there a five minute limit on the application film?

  • @armada1e My limit was 10 minutes. I am currently in the class of 2014, so maybe they changed it for this year's application.

  • @CRAZiMaRrix3 did you send a dvd to them?

  • @CRAZiMaRrix3 I'm class of 2015 starting next fall and it's still 10 min. they said at the open house last fall that if you go over 10 min a little bit they won't care.

  • @armada1e no I applied ED for 2015 and it's 10.

  • My guess is that your SAT really helped, you have given me hope in getting accepted to tisch. Actually seeing down to earth people like yourself makes it seem not so impossible

  • Very, very well done. Definitely one of the best SOCAPA films i've seen (yay socapa), much better than most of these other tisch acceptance videos. Loved the opening sequence and the plot.

  • How long did it take to finish this? the whole process i mean. Script, finding actors, filming, editing, everything

and do you have any advice on what is should be doing to get accepted? I just want to make sure im doing everything alright.

  • @monkenround94 It took about a week. I shot the entire thing in one day with a crew. Well basically make sure your film is creative, shot well, and tells a clear story. Maybe have a twist in the story... its all about showing a great story in a beautiful creative way. Also, make sure your grades and SATs are up to par :)

  • @CRAZiMaRrix3 THANK YOU!

  • this was great! i'm so happy for you that you got into tisch. do you know anything about the photo & imaging program? i'm applying soon and i'm still torn between cas and tisch so any info would be greatly appreciated!

  • This looks like it was shot on a sony, but I could be wrong. nice. Sorry for so many questions about applying, but I'm not good at foreign language, but I get really good grades for the most part. I know you can't answer for sure, but how many years of language did you take, other than English. Is more than 2 years required?

  • oooh, i like this. i've suffered from OCD for three years now, so at first when she said the pills worked in 4 days, i was thinking..."pills take AT LEAST a week to kick in, this is weird..." but i guess that kinda contributed to the irony, even if it was unintended. :) great job, enjoy tisch!!

  • Hi Great video, in your opinion do you think its more important to have good grades or a good film

  • @TheGoldenTones While they say the decision is 50/50, I believe it is most important to have a good film. If you have amazing grades but don't display talent in film, you probably won't be accepted. They are essentially looking for artists that also have great grades.

  • Hello! Congrats on making it to Tisch!

I hope its not too personal but what were your gpa and sat scores?

  • @IHaveAGenericName Thanks so much!! Ahh no not at all, 3.65 gpa with a 2050 sat.

  • Very nice.

  • @mwlizz refers to a boom mike, probably. It's held on a stick over the heads of the actors to pick up the dialogue.

  • that was sooo great!

  • I'm applying this fall. I really enjoyed your video. Is there a way to get an mp3 of the music?

  • Just wondering, when applying to a school like NYU Tisch film school, is it required to send in a film made by you? I don't mean to sound naive but I am unaware

  • i'm applying there in the fall, this movie is great, but you shouldve called it placebo. :)

  • Best application film I've seen so far!

  • I liked your video.

did you apply directly to tisch school of arts or the normal nyu undergraduate office?

  • Nice! Good twist at the end.... But the flashback the first time in the doctor's office was not needed and I think if some of the scenes took place at night it would have given the film a more dark and "desperate" feel to it---the scene in the bathroom was darker and it seemed to fit the film better than the day scenes. GOOD JOB!

  • Why are these pills so MINTY!?!

  • No wander he was giving her Tic-Tacs! He looked half her age, ha!

  • great!!!! very good and OMG i still have time but if these kind of work is the competition when i apply I better work hard!!! hey how did u film it? which type of cam? lol very good definition

  • omg thats so good lol congrats on ur acceptance!

  • That was very powerful for a short film. It really portrays the enormous power of the human mind.

  • well done well done... i subscribed because of this video right here... plz return the favor and subscribe to mines too..... ohh oohhh and just to let you know i will be commenting on your new vids from now on.... your friend Todd

  • absolutely brill.

  • mary its GREAT!!!

  • i liked it the message.

  • What was the message; placebo? LOL

  • the message is that mental illness is all in your head. the doctor is perscribing you anit-depressants but it is really tic-tacs, but you do not know that. So you believe that the pills are really working.

  • you got it :)

  • You know, if a doctor did this and medical authorities found out, he'd be in troubles because not treating a patient is against medical ethics.

It's not like tic-tacs can solve a problem of neurotransmitters causing you insomnia and depression. :/

  • placebo effect.

  • OMG I am sorry mrcab. I had no clue what placebo was and I did not bother to look it up. But yes Placebo.

  • lol sokay ;-)

  • That was interesting.

How come the reception didn't even ask for her name?

    Otherwise liked the ending...lol

  • I was asking myself the same thing.

  • @mad8london247 well i guess its because shes a regular there.

  • that's one very young doctor, lol. cool stuff

  • isnt this where u filmed the cereal killer?

  • Love it <3

    -Sofia, from SOCAPA :)

  • i love how all ur vids have a funny twist at the end... i never know what to expect lol
