Me acctualy, i begined to think a lot about wth i want in life and how the humanity is going to the shit. Just think about it for a second... Atlus announced both Persona 4: The Golden and the P4 fighting game sequel and also let it slip that now that the cast has been refreshed after doing Catherine that they're back in developement of Persona 5 and that pre-production is done.

They should make it more adult oriented like Catherine but with a American in college who transferred to japan but had no other things in. Common with Catherine and should have the option to be male or female snd should have some voiced scenes
@TiffanyCullen I am sorry the audio quality isn't up to your standards, but it's hard to maintain audio quality between so many people with different microphones and varying sound quality with each of them. At the time of recording we did the best we could.
I'm quite new to this series but fell in love with it right away. The few things that made it good for me is the female protaganist, scene as its rare to have a game where you can be a girl so i hope they keep that, although i was a little disappointed with the ending. The story was engaging and i like games where what i choose shape the games outcome. I was a little dissapointed with the lack of interesting characters, p3p isnt the best though. I really hope P5 tops of all the games so far!
@Tr3s3ntos I feel like that should be a spinoff game, not a main installment. That's like saying I think Brawl should be part of the Zelda canon, or Dissidia should be part of all the FF canons. Besides, how would you make a game of a bunch of Silent Protagonists interacting? None of them talk. Unless they pulled a Mother 3 and had the characters only not speak when you controlled them, there's no plot.
The dating sim element is one of the few reason that make the Persona series so unique. Taking that away and you're left with is an average turn based Jrpg.
@iveayu It's half of the game, and the defining feature of the games at this point, even though it's only been around since 3. It needs to be expanded. While I don't think taking them away makes a standard turn based RPG, as it has some innovations like "1more" and "Knockdown" and the Persona themselves, it's a huge part of the game. Social Links by day, Tartarus by night in P3, or in P4's case, simply choosing between them. You're right in thinking that they're important.
Maybe. Because since P4 is about extinguishing all desires of death, then there's no more reason for Minato to continue being the seal. So basically, P4 is indirectly about a rescue mission for Minato.
But then again, if they are going to make Persona 5 about the release of the great seal, it would conflict against the timeline of Trinity Soul...unless Atlus sticks to Trinity Soul's timeline and make the characters of P3 in their respective ages to the anime. It would all really be confusing si
@RoiDominik TS is noncanon to the Persona timeline and should not be regarded as such. Besides, I wouldn't want them to talk about Minato or Seta or any of those. I'd want it to do what 4 did, and reference past events, but not explain them, and have the plots coexist and affect one another, though indirectly.
If I'm right (I hope) persona 5's development will all depend on Atlus' Catherine and how well it does sales wise in Japan and in the u.s. but here's hoping the come out with P5 in the states
there is same things that i would like to see in Persona 5. one is a new story that takes place in 3030. or After the Answers in Persona 3 Fes. somehow the story doesn't feel complete ant all. Persona 2 and 4 they ended it with a good point, but Persona 3 fes is left unfinished. 5 should be the older main characters figure out how to stop the shadow from everyone and the end saving the main character. it is sad that he dies. Do any of you think that would be a great story for Persona 5?
No. I strongly disagree with anyone who says there should be a Persona game concerning rescuing Minato from the Seal. Perhaps it could be a side quest story add-on, but not the main focus of the story. I'm afraid a lot of you miss the point of Minato sacrificing himself to save mankind. It's not about saving Minato; it's about changing the world to make it a better place with the will of all mankind.
I doubt this game is coming out. No recent news, no updates since sometime in 2010. Plus, you think they're gonna make an AWESOME jewel of a game for Next gen consoles? That means better graphics, wider places more detailed environments, it would be too big of a risk of failing. I'm sure we wont see this game.
That Red P5 picture looks very legit... but... the guy on the right looks a hell of a lot like Hibari from Hitman Reborn. And him holding a box adds even more evidence to my claim. But, anywhoo, I think red and black should be the main colors of P5, that'd be awesome. :D And I hope the soundtrack is a little more intense than P4's. Maybe make it sound like DDS2's soundtrack...?

I couldn't agree more. If they make a male and female protagonist, they would have to focus on two different scenarios, which I strongly believe would deteriorate from the story severely. They need to focus on one protagonist. I prefer it be a female this time around, though, just because it would be interesting to have a different gender perspective.
@Laxanii Although my reasons were others, you have a point, but i prefer male protagonist... one thing is playing as a female protagonist in P3P (since Minato is the original protagonist of P3) and is different playing as one female character in a TV where everyone can see that you are dating a dude XD (and i hope they don't do anything gay or lesbian... cuz it would be rather confusing XD) i just prefer male protagonist... but i want him to have a default name lika Tatsuya.
Hmmm... One of your reasons for not wanting a female protagonist is because you don't want to date a male? That's a little unfair, don't you think? I wish every protagonist had a default name, instead of allowing player to name the character. I also wish they spoke in full dialogue instead of minimal speech. I hate a main character with no personality. However, Minato and Seta do not seem without complete lack of personality, but I want a full personality from my main characters. I'm not Minato and Seta, and I sure don't feel like that character either. Still, I want a female perspective on the story of Persona for a change.
@Laxanii Actually is Souji Seta not Seta Souji (Souji the first name) and yeah Minato and Souji don't have a total blank personality, Minato is a bit reserved and doesn't like to be around people to much, but he changes through the story, while Souji was almost the same, but he was more open for the investigation team and his family, Naoya... he is almost blank, as for Tatsuya, even if he is a protagonist he has a personality... for me.
Vincent is only one talking protagonist of ATLUS xD.
Let's hope Vincent isn't the only lead character from the Persona team who talks. And to be fair, he's not the only talking protagonist from Atlus who speaks and has a name. There is also Vanilla Beans from Steambot Chronicles (an okay game). Plus all the main characters from Odin Sphere.
@Laxanii I know that, i was talking of SMT and Persona games (i know Catherine is not a SMT game, but has the feel of it) and i forgot, Shin is the only one that talks in the Persona series (Persona Trinity Soul) but anyway, i hope that Persona 5 will be a great game and with a less random Social Link guide XD.
Well, it's like when I played Dragon Quest VIII. I despised how "blank" the Hero was in the game. Barely any personality, except maybe towards the end. I want full personality for my main characters. I think it's ridiculous that gaming companies think that we gamers can "feel" like these characters (i.e. Link). The games would be significantly better if the protagonists spoke and had default names.
@Laxanii I prefer FF than Dragon Quest, but i get your point, and yeah Link was the first silent protagonist i saw in a video game and Minato the second, but yeah i don't feel like the character at all (a first person perspective would be different, but still the same) even though we give them the last bit of personality, we choose the ones for a good ending, or for a fit to the protagonist (i.e. i gave Minato the one that fits: emo to friendly) and Tatsuya has one even if you don't notice.
Yep. I still like Dragon Quest VIII a lot, though. Especially for its open world gaming. The problem with Link and Zelda games in general is the fact that it's the same concept for every game (i.e. "Collect some stones, princess gets kidnapped, save her from the same villain). Also, Zelda's concept is the same as Mario (the SAME princess gets kidnapped, save her from the SAME antagonist).

Don't think dolls would be lame! How would Kanji feel? Kidding, of course. Persona is perhaps the most surreal RPG game out there, so don't dismiss dolls as a possible totem for summoning Personas. Why not use rolls of toilet paper? If Atlus did it right, it could work.

I think their eyes should stay like it is in P3 and P4. Just look at Vincent or Catherine's eyes in Catherine. Those kind of eyes would be my ideal vision for P5. Of course, despite my distaste towards anime eyes, I still want the "anime" style and special anime cutscenes. You are talking about the main characters' eyes, right?

I don't know about saving Minato. I think that the message of "we need to do our best to make the world a better place" is enough. That is how Minato could be saved anyhow. Changing the world for the betterment of all mankind and the Earth.
I like that it's more realistic that you can only date one girl. It doesn't really make sense (realisticly) if you can date more than one girl.

No, I'm not mocking the wishiful thinking. I'm just agreeing that you're probably right that Atlus would never make a game where they free Minato. That, as I have said, would defeat the purpose of the game.
I know P3 seemed to focus on Greek mythology (Orpheus, Nyx, etc.) and P4 seemed to focus on Japanese mythology (Izanami, Izanagi, etc.), but I mean I think the ability to summon Personas should always be in a plethera of mythologies (i.e. Christain, Buhdism, Muslim, etc.).
@Laxanii But who knows, Atlus maybe will have an excuse for that (example: Elizabeth)... it's just that i'm hoping he will come back... anyway, oh... it could be cool if they put devil summoners like in P1 and P2 or at least cameos of Raidou or other devil summoners or maybe devil busters.
Not really. They already have Satan and the Messiah as summonable Personas. Doesn't get any more controversial than that. I'm not saying focus on Christianity or Judism: I'm just saying Atlus should keep the different Personas already available to summon from many different mythologies.

@hotwhire I agree. I hope they keep it more like Persona 3 than Persona 4, as far as dating. And I still want to play as a female this time around. Dating males from a female perspective doesn't bother me, despite my straight orientation. I am very comfortable with my sexuality, and the majority should feel the same.
I would like the MC to have a choose of weapons like the MC from Persona 3. It would work with the socal links. Also, what I heard that the first Persona, players have a choose between Melee(swords,knife,fan, etc.) to long range(Bow, Guns, etc) weapons. They could add that to the new one.

There is actually an item that revives the main character of they are K.O. if you play on easy; you get ten of them.
I just hope that in P5 your party members would be able to revive you if you fall in battle in mean in P3&4 I had about 20 of the items that can revive a K.O. party member why couldn't my team mates use them.
I know that the MC is the leader of everyone but I'm pretty sure everyone wouldn't just panic and forget how to do everything if the MC gets K.O. makes no sense.
Yeah you guys are right the persona crew is working on catherine. ive heard they will be using the engine of catherine for persona 5 so i think they will star developing persona 5 after the release on usa and well the rest of the world.
I think P5 should really deepen the formula with social links and allow even more choices when it comes to who you form bonds with. I also really wanna see a fully customizable main character. Like, you pick his clothes and hairstyle, etc.
I actually wouldn't want a choice between male or female in Persona 5. My reasoning for not wanting a choice is that Atlus would have to divide up the story elements. When that happens, they have to focus on two different story scenerios instead of one, which could cause the story to lack its depth if they don't focus on one overall story. I would like that the next game has a female main character instead of a male, actually.
Something I'd love to see in the upcoming Persona 5 game is better persona-design.
Many Personas you would work hard to get but in the end they would look horrible and out-of-place in the game. They can look cooler, I think. Don't just rehash personas from the previous games, but actually make them look like a 'Persona'. An abstract concept from the mind.
Also, customizable clothing & looks would be nice but not mandatory. And choosable MC gender but with different stories for the links.

Its not that PSP or any portable consoles are bad or anything it just pisses me off when I hear a huge game is coming to handhelds, prime example: Dragon Quest IX. It just proves the point before hand that the game isn't going to be as big or epic as it would be on PS3. It would be like if SE decided to remake FFVII on 3DS. I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one that would be furious if that happened.

I'll admit I loved Persona 3 it is easily my favorite game ever and before it I wasn't much of an RPG player, but I didn't care for Persona 4 at all it just didn't have the same vibe to it

Anyone?), but i don't think Persona 4 is a bad game, i'll give P4 a 10/10, since it is actually one of the best games ever made, and P3 (and P3FES) a 15/10, cuz it is THE best game ever made.
@Sniper0803135790 Lot's of people seem to say they liked P3 better, but I definitely liked P4 the best. It's one of my fave games of all time lol. One thing that kinda ruined P3 for me was that I couldn't really choose what my allies did in battle, I beat it, but it kinda frustrated me. However, that may be part of the fun of P3 is the extra strategy it requires.
i too am a big fan of this series and would love to see more content such as two separate campains (boy/girl) as well as more social link variety in the story. i would like to see something that kind of ties all of the stories together too, maybe as a final game in the series. another thing that i love about the games is the fact that the persona your MC can control are all based off of mytholegy and i find it very interesting. P5 i hope you make it to US soon
with p5 (potentially) being on the ps3 the game could go longer say 3 years in high school, or a university that would be cool taking your M/F date to the prom n' that

I'm quite new to this series but fell in love with it right away. The few things that made it good for me is the female protaganist, scene as its rare to have a game where you can be a girl so i hope they keep that, although i was a little disappointed with the ending. The story was engaging and i like games where what i choose shape the games outcome. I was a little dissapointed with the lack of interesting characters, p3p isnt the best though. I really hope P5 tops of all the games so far!

@Tr3s3ntos I feel like that should be a spinoff game, not a main installment. That's like saying I think Brawl should be part of the Zelda canon, or Dissidia should be part of all the FF canons. Besides, how would you make a game of a bunch of Silent Protagonists interacting? None of them talk. Unless they pulled a Mother 3 and had the characters only not speak when you controlled them, there's no plot.

The dating sim element is one of the few reason that make the Persona series so unique. Taking that away and you're left with is an average turn based Jrpg.

@iveayu It's half of the game, and the defining feature of the games at this point, even though it's only been around since 3. It needs to be expanded. While I don't think taking them away makes a standard turn based RPG, as it has some innovations like "1more" and "Knockdown" and the Persona themselves, it's a huge part of the game. Social Links by day, Tartarus by night in P3, or in P4's case, simply choosing between them. You're right in thinking that they're important.

Maybe. Because since P4 is about extinguishing all desires of death, then there's no more reason for Minato to continue being the seal. So basically, P4 is indirectly about a rescue mission for Minato.
But then again, if they are going to make Persona 5 about the release of the great seal, it would conflict against the timeline of Trinity Soul...unless Atlus sticks to Trinity Soul's timeline and make the characters of P3 in their respective ages to the anime. It would all really be confusing si

@RoiDominik TS is noncanon to the Persona timeline and should not be regarded as such. Besides, I wouldn't want them to talk about Minato or Seta or any of those. I'd want it to do what 4 did, and reference past events, but not explain them, and have the plots coexist and affect one another, though indirectly.

there is same things that i would like to see in Persona 5. one is a new story that takes place in 3030. or After the Answers in Persona 3 Fes. somehow the story doesn't feel complete ant all. Persona 2 and 4 they ended it with a good point, but Persona 3 fes is left unfinished. 5 should be the older main characters figure out how to stop the shadow from everyone and the end saving the main character. it is sad that he dies. Do any of you think that would be a great story for Persona 5?

No. I strongly disagree with anyone who says there should be a Persona game concerning rescuing Minato from the Seal. Perhaps it could be a side quest story add-on, but not the main focus of the story. I'm afraid a lot of you miss the point of Minato sacrificing himself to save mankind. It's not about saving Minato; it's about changing the world to make it a better place with the will of all mankind.

That means better graphics, wider places more detailed environments, it would be too big of a risk of failing. I'm sure we wont see this game.

That Red P5 picture looks very legit... but... the guy on the right looks a hell of a lot like Hibari from Hitman Reborn. And him holding a box adds even more evidence to my claim. But, anywhoo, I think red and black should be the main colors of P5, that'd be awesome. :D And I hope the soundtrack is a little more intense than P4's. Maybe make it sound like DDS2's soundtrack...?

I couldn't agree more. If they make a male and female protagonist, they would have to focus on two different scenarios, which I strongly believe would deteriorate from the story severely. They need to focus on one protagonist. I prefer it be a female this time around, though, just because it would be interesting to have a different gender perspective.

What about all the female gamers out there who enjoy playing the Persona series (I have yet to meet one)? Wouldn't it be fair to them to have a chance to date males for a change? I wish every protagonist had a default name, instead of allowing player to name the character. I also wish they spoke in full dialogue instead of minimal speech. I hate a main character with no personality. However, Minato and Seta do not seem without complete lack of personality, but I want a full personality from my main characters. I'm not Minato and Seta, and I sure don't feel like that character either. Still, I want a female perspective on the story of Persona for a change.

@Laxanii Actually is Souji Seta not Seta Souji (Souji the first name) and yeah Minato and Souji don't have a total blank personality, Minato is a bit reserved and doesn't like to be around people to much, but he changes through the story, while Souji was almost the same, but he was more open for the investigation team and his family, Naoya... he is almost blank, as for Tatsuya, even if he is a protagonist he has a personality... for me.
Vincent is only one talking protagonist of ATLUS xD.

Well, it's like when I played Dragon Quest VIII. I despised how "blank" the Hero was in the game. Barely any personality, except maybe towards the end. I want full personality for my main characters. I think it's ridiculous that gaming companies think that we gamers can "feel" like these characters (i.e. Link). The games would be significantly better if the protagonists spoke and had default names.

@Laxanii I prefer FF than Dragon Quest, but i get your point, and yeah Link was the first silent protagonist i saw in a video game and Minato the second, but yeah i don't feel like the character at all (a first person perspective would be different, but still the same) even though we give them the last bit of personality, we choose the ones for a good ending, or for a fit to the protagonist (i.e. i gave Minato the one that fits: emo to friendly) and Tatsuya has one even if you don't notice.

Yep. I still like Dragon Quest VIII a lot, though. Especially for its open world gaming. The problem with Link and Zelda games in general is the fact that it's the same concept for every game (i.e. "Collect some stones, princess gets kidnapped, save her from the same villain). Also, Zelda's concept is the same as Mario (the SAME princess gets kidnapped, save her from the SAME antagonist).

Don't think dolls would be lame! How would Kanji feel? Kidding, of course. Persona is perhaps the most surreal RPG game out there, so don't dismiss dolls as a possible totem for summoning Personas. Why not use rolls of toilet paper? If Atlus did it right, it could work.

What about their eyes? Do you mean I would like to see the "anime" eyes or normal eyes? In which case, I prefer normal eyes. Anime eyes are kind of....buggy. I think their eyes should stay like it is in P3 and P4. Just look at Vincent or Catherine's eyes in Catherine. Those kind of eyes would be my ideal vision for P5. Of course, despite my distaste towards anime eyes, I still want the "anime" style and special anime cutscenes. You are talking about the main characters' eyes, right?

I don't know about saving Minato. I think that the message of "we need to do our best to make the world a better place" is enough. That is how Minato could be saved anyhow. Changing the world for the betterment of all mankind and the Earth.
I like that it's more realistic that you can only date one girl. It doesn't really make sense (realisticly) if you can date more than one girl.

No, I'm not mocking the wishiful thinking. I'm just agreeing that you're probably right that Atlus would never make a game where they free Minato. That, as I have said, would defeat the purpose of the game.
I know P3 seemed to focus on Greek mythology (Orpheus, Nyx, etc.) and P4 seemed to focus on Japanese mythology (Izanami, Izanagi, etc.), but I mean I think the ability to summon Personas should always be in a plethera of mythologies (i.e. Christain, Buhdism, Muslim, etc.).

I would like the MC to have a choose of weapons like the MC from Persona 3. It would work with the socal links. Also, what I heard that the first Persona, players have a choose between Melee(swords,knife,fan, etc.) to long range(Bow, Guns, etc) weapons. They could add that to the new one.

There is actually an item that revives the main character of they are K.O. if you play on easy; you get ten of them.
I just hope that in P5 your party members would be able to revive you if you fall in battle in mean in P3&4 I had about 20 of the items that can revive a K.O. party member why couldn't my team mates use them.
I know that the MC is the leader of everyone but I'm pretty sure everyone wouldn't just panic and forget how to do everything if the MC gets K.O. makes no sense.

I think P5 should really deepen the formula with social links and allow even more choices when it comes to who you form bonds with. I also really wanna see a fully customizable main character. Like, you pick his clothes and hairstyle, etc.

I actually wouldn't want a choice between male or female in Persona 5. My reasoning for not wanting a choice is that Atlus would have to divide up the story elements. When that happens, they have to focus on two different story scenerios instead of one, which could cause the story to lack its depth if they don't focus on one overall story. I would like that the next game has a female main character instead of a male, actually.

Something I'd love to see in the upcoming Persona 5 game is better persona-design.
Many Personas you would work hard to get but in the end they would look horrible and out-of-place in the game. They can look cooler, I think. Don't just rehash personas from the previous games, but actually make them look like a 'Persona'. An abstract concept from the mind.
Also, customizable clothing & looks would be nice but not mandatory. And choosable MC gender but with different stories for the links.

Its not that PSP or any portable consoles are bad or anything it just pisses me off when I hear a huge game is coming to handhelds, prime example: Dragon Quest IX. It just proves the point before hand that the game isn't going to be as big or epic as it would be on PS3. It would be like if SE decided to remake FFVII on 3DS. I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one that would be furious if that happened.

Anyone?), but i don't think Persona 4 is a bad game, i'll give P4 a 10/10, since it is actually one of the best games ever made, and P3 (and P3FES) a 15/10, cuz it is THE best game ever made.

One thing that kinda ruined P3 for me was that I couldn't really choose what my allies did in battle, I beat it, but it kinda frustrated me. However, that may be part of the fun of P3 is the extra strategy it requires.

i too am a big fan of this series and would love to see more content such as two separate campains (boy/girl) as well as more social link variety in the story. i would like to see something that kind of ties all of the stories together too, maybe as a final game in the series. another thing that i love about the games is the fact that the persona your MC can control are all based off of mytholegy and i find it very interesting. P5 i hope you make it to US soon
