Whitney was...no IS an icon! As long as I can remember I have been a Whitney fan, I have every album, multiples of some that were broken or lost.! I'm sadden to my core of her passing. The pain I've been feeling the past several hours I'm sure is comparable to huge MJ fans when he died. I listen to whitney every day, she's in all of my playlists. @bambambritt She was not at her lowest point here. I think she's high here (and she has admitted to being high most of 'TPW' filming) but it wasn't SO obvious to non-users, YET. She could still 'roughly' hold it together. The bottom began to fall out during and, in particular, AFTER the 'MLIYL' tour. It was at it's very worst around the 'Just Whitney' time.

@bambambritt She was not at her lowest point here. I think she's high here (and she has admitted to being high most of 'TPW' filming) but it wasn't SO obvious to non-users, YET. She could still 'roughly' hold it together. The bottom began to fall out during and, in particular, AFTER the 'MLIYL' tour. It was at it's very worst around the 'Just Whitney' time.

Who the eff cares that she can't sing like this today. She did once! There are COUNTLESS performances like this (and many FAR better) if only the Grinches at Arista would open the vaults. NOTHING lasts forever. When you had talent and abilities like Whitney there is nowhere to go eventually but down. Get over it and stop living in the past already!

some people say if she had gone to gospel, she wouldn't have been as famous or rich...etc...but thats not the reason people sing gospel in the first place. plus, maybe if she had gone this route instead of the pop/diva route, maybe we would have had a clean and sober whitney through her entire career. maybe it would have been better for her. who knows...but she still could do a great gospel cd even with her voice being what it is today

1:43 - 1:45 is my favorite run. The placement of those notes held on over the choirs sustain is moving. Whitney is not just a singer but skilled musician.
