That was so sick. Gus G is quite an amazing guitarist. The people who say zakk and gus arent as good as rhoads dont realize the fact that his shredding was nothing on this scale. He was a great guitarist too. Guitar in general has changed an many guitarists are as good as Rhoads was. That isn't an insult it's inspiration to keep guitarists on their toes to do the best they can and be creative with their own style. You dont have to be the best just do your own thing. And do your best at it.
Randy Rhoads was the Best thing Ozzy found ,Then Jake E Lee , Zakk And Gus are Both Great .But Rhoads Changed Guitar playing . Zakk And Gus learned From The First Two .

Lol I think everyone is bashing Gus more than Zakk tbh. But there's nothing that the fans can do about it. Ozzy has made his choice and has selected Gus G as his wingman. Even though I am a fan of Gus, I reckon that Zakk was suited to the style of Ozzy's songs more. His stuff just appears to be a bit more generic in the new album and isn't as raw as the stuff that Zakk wrote with him. I was interested in seeing what Gus could do...and he's decent...and I was going to leave a positive comment...but I see people trash talking Zakk saying Gus is better. @DiAbOLiCPeNtaToNiC - its about the songwriting and the melody. They are both great just different. Gus leans toward an arena epic style while Zakk remains in the grungy low end style. It is simply a matter of IMO. Both are very good at what they do. Having said that from a technical and variety I would lean Gus, but I dont even have either of them in my top ten. Both make great METAL Music in its various forms and I am thankful to appreciate them all.

Just because you don't see Zakk doing string skipping arpeggios doesn't make Gus better because you won't see Gus hybrid pick like Zakk. I prefer the country rock blues metal fusion style. I'm heavy into Pink Floyd and their guitarist is the reason I started playing to begin with and a lot his playing is blues rock based. Gus is good...but I just prefer Zakk

I love Gus G's playing he is amazing, but so is Zakk! I'm pretty sure Ozzy wanted someone new to bring in some new sounds and it had nothing to do with Gus being any better than Zakk. Song writing seems to be underated among guitarists and Zakk helped write many great songs during his time with ozzy. I will say I've watched many vids of Gus G playing live I love how clean and accurate his playing is! Both guys are amazing and we are all blessed to be able to listen to the music they create!

Lol I think everyone is bashing Gus more than Zakk tbh. But there's nothing that the fans can do about it. Ozzy has made his choice and has selected Gus G as his wingman. Even though I am a fan of Gus, I reckon that Zakk was suited to the style of Ozzy's songs more. His stuff just appears to be a bit more generic in the new album and isn't as raw as the stuff that Zakk wrote with him. I think it's because that Gus G is limited to to showing his talents that it sounds soo generic. Come back to fw

all of you guys are wrong. i read a guitarworld interview where ozzy said he fired zakk because of his growing drinking problem and fired him to let him focus on getting better. in the meantime, ozzy hired gus and the rest is history

Im not normally one to troll and bash a guitarist until I see people bashing my main man Zakk. I was interested in seeing what Gus could do...and he's decent...and I was going to leave a positive comment...but I see people trash talking Zakk saying Gus is better. I do not see how Gus is any better...at least from this video...all I see is an overuse of delay and shit along with a wah pedal...and a few slow sweeps...how does that make him better?

@DiAbOLiCPeNtaToNiC well i don't personally think this video is an excellent display of his talent. but really theres only one sweep in this entire video, the other arpeggio's are all alternate picked. secondly I've never seen zakk wylde do any string skipping arpeggio's like gus g can frequently belt out. I'm not bashing zakk, i don't particularly care for him but i think he's a pretty good guitarist. but there's plenty of stuff gus g can do zakk can't.

@DiAbOLiCPeNtaToNiC - its about the songwriting and the melody. They are both great just different. Gus leans toward an arena epic style while Zakk remains in the grungy low end style. It is simply a matter of IMO. Both are very good at what they do. Having said that from a technical and variety I would lean Gus, but I dont even have either of them in my top ten. Both make great METAL Music in its various forms and I am thankful to appreciate them all.

Zacky still rules, but this guy also rules

Just because you don't see Zakk doing string skipping arpeggios doesn't make Gus better because you won't see Gus hybrid pick like Zakk. I prefer the country rock blues metal fusion style. I'm heavy into Pink Floyd and their guitarist is the reason I started playing to begin with and a lot his playing is blues rock based. Gus is good...but I just prefer Zakk

I love Gus G's playing he is amazing, but so is Zakk! I'm pretty sure Ozzy wanted someone new to bring in some new sounds and it had nothing to do with Gus being any better than Zakk. Song writing seems to be underated among guitarists and Zakk helped write many great songs during his time with ozzy. I will say I've watched many vids of Gus G playing live I love how clean and accurate his playing is! Both guys are amazing and we are all blessed to be able to listen to the music they create!

@finleur: Yeah but zakk does to diminished 3 string triad sweeps...like in the "Concrete Jungle" Solo...and Zakk also does tapping and hybrid picking...he just sticks to pentatonics and passing tones which I think Is great...either way to each his own...I guess I just like Zakks smashmouth in your face style solo...We can agree that Ozzy does have an eye for talent though.
