This just happened to me a few days ago, coincidentally mine was a shiny magneton as well. Mine ran away after I threw the first safari ball :(

i was walking thorough the Safari Zone today, and I found a shiny Raticate. I freaked out and threw a Ball and crossed my fingers and it actually stayed. I ran out of the safari zone and saved imediately.

@TheXxTanmanxX Yeah I was shocked when I found out that people hunted in SZ, it was bad enough that I lost this Magneton but if I had hunted for it, the feeling would be much worse I think. The adrenalin rush is awesome though:D

Haven't came across a single shiny apart from shiny garydos but that doesent count the only games I've found shinys in is diamond because of the radar but a game that I think I've been lucky on is White 2 Radom encounter shinys

i got a shiny Nidoran male from the Safari Zone on Firered it was my first shiny ever in that game also i found a Shiny Exeggcute in the Safari zone there XD i was very lucky and i still got them also i encounter a Shiny Magnenite when i got in the Power Plant in Firered man im am a so very lucky its like i have Luck Power :o no not really im just born lucky XD

I think the fact that he stayed so long made it worse though, definitely!! It was torture:( But I'll be chaining Magnemites when the swarm comes so I'm not too sad^__^
