hey hey hey! I'm only saying because it has the same sound structure as a genesis! I've got a DX7, but this thing's cooler because it's got a sequencer. Even if it does have only four operators. So there! Mr. facepalm.jpg

Dude, a Sega is 16-bit sample-based. This is an FM synthesizer. Two completely different animals. And yes, this and the TX81Z have only four-operators, but they can also use waveforms other than sine, so there is sonically a lot that this thing can do that the DX-7 hasn't got a chance of pulling off.
NO WAY!!! The YM2612 chip is completely FM based!!!! Are you out of your mind!? The SUPER NINTENDO is sample based! I know what I'm talking about! You have no idea what you are talking about! Did you even look it up??? Yamaha designed the fucking chip! There's ONE channel of samples, and six channels of four-operator FM! For crying out loud! PWNED! You just got schooled! Look it freaking up! Jeez!

I just looked it up and as expected, you're wrong. How do you think they were able to have all those samples running at once on games like Earthworm Jim? Now, stop acting like a child and make some fucking music.
Fine whatever: The YM2612 has the following features: * Six concurrent FM channels (voices) * Four operators per channel * Two interval timers * A low frequency oscillator (LFO) * Analogue stereo output
so hip

This thing has more functionality in its front panel than any other FM synth in its price range. It's basically a full-fledged FM workstation.

The styling of this thing is SO late '80s early '90s. They took a rectangle and rotated everything on it!
