  • Hi TC, I really love this pedal, but the current draw is a bit annoying...would the T-rex current doubler work to provide enough current to it from the BBE supa charger? (400mA from 5&6, each at 200mA)

  • i gotta get one of these

  • Every reviewer on youtube should take lessons from this guy.

  • 7:00 Wow! That's goooood.

  • True Bypass?

  • @PF1964 No, I believe it's buffered - but it's a great sounding pedal. And "true bypass" is a giant pile of hype that has showed up in the past few years. I never heard the term until recently - back In the day there was no such thing and we did just fine stringing stuff together - and buffered output is actually often better for your signal anyway. I like the boxes today that offer both but I wouldn't base a purchase decision on that. Go with your ears.

  • "David Gilmour uses this"

Ok enough said I'm gonna buy it right now!

  • TC messed up by not making this pedal have presets. With so many cool sounds available presets are a must. The modulation on this pedal is WAYYY better than the Nova Delay, but unfortunately you're limited to one sound without presets. They need to come up with a Nova Delay 2 which is the Repeater with presets.

  • Hi,

I've had a hankering after a Nova delay for ages and have finally got enough money together. Can you tell me what the difference is between the Repeater and the Nova delay please? Is one an improved version of the other or just slightly different?

The main feature of both that attracts me is being able to set the tempo with the guitar.. brilliant idea !!

  • @SONGSTICKS - There is a number of different features, for instance, stereo input/output on the nova delay.

We highly recommend that you try out both for yourself and then decide.

    Happy comparing! :)

  • it Cool!!! Delay

    w w w . coollivesound. c o m /tc-electronic-nova-repeater-guitar-delay-pedal/#more-19

  • is this bufferd signal or true baypass thanks

  • @ichi612 - please contact our support :)

  • @ichi612 buffered signal

  • @ichi612

I think, w/ all this pedal has going on, it's safe to assume buffered. But if you've got a good buffer, that's often even better than true bypass for your overall sound.

  • Man, i love TC, you are a bit like boss, just WAY better, and the most important point: Your Pedals are perfect!

  • @Matthiastube95 Thank you very much, Matthias!

  • Hi Guys. Whats the point of having presets if you have to bend down and change the seetings? If you play live sometimes you have to change delay time and do it quickly. I think it is the only disadvantage of this pedal..

  • @deluxereverb65 Hi. - The tap switch is there to tap in the desired delay time.

  • @tcelectronic Thanks, i`ll check out.

  • the ehx stereo memory man is a better pedal really. does all the same things and has a great loop functionality.

  • probably the best review ive seen in a long while...

  • @SimFitz12 Thank you!

  • hi i'm really torn between the nova repeater and the flashback delay now! :) any inputs on what are the differences between the two? thanks a bunch for making these cool demos!

    cheers

  • @gb83ish The Flashback has no modulation or tone control, but loop and the 'Toneprint' feature and a different approach to tap tempo, to point out a few - try both and then decide?

    And thank you.

  • Will the voodoo lab pp2+ power the Nova Repeater or not?

  • @InspiredProphecy Nova Repeater draws 300 mA an needs 9-12 Vdc to run (we suggest that you use the supplied PSU). The voodolab pp2+ can only source 250 mA at output 5 or 6 at 9 Vdc, you can try it but we won't reccomend it.

  • @InspiredProphecy i think that the voodoo lab pedal power iso5 has a 300ma 12vds output

  • @InspiredProphecy i think that the voodoo lab pedal power iso5 has a 300ma 12vdc output

  • Wow, probably the best pedal demo I've seen on YouTube so far, great job! Nice pedal too, regardless of it's moderate price. I've seen several comments regarding comparisons between NR and Boss DD7, not valid IMO, the DD7 is good but not in the same league as the NR, sound or option wise.

  • hey no cap!

  • Does this adjust tempo based on two taps or the average of several?

  • @dummyaccount68 It works with just two taps - and it doesn't have to be on either. I've been using this pedal live and for practice for over a year now and have no problems; I strongly recommend it! :)

  • Thank you very much for the help:)

  • is there any difference between nova delay..and..the nove repeater delay?

  • @Giggity230 No, it's the same effect. The two pedals offer different options for it and there's a few of the effects that are different. If you are interested you can find the complete manuals and specsheets available for download at our website

  • whats the diffrence between this pedal and the NOVA DELAY?

Great job ! ... are you from norway? :P

  • @TheMusicDude1997 Hi - TC Electronic is located in Denmark though it could be mistaken for Norway these days considering all the snow we have :-)

Nova Delay has preset functions, the Repeater doesn't. Repeater has a KillDry function, Nova Delay doesn't.

I'd recommend you download both manuals form our site to compare further.

    tcelectronic/jens

  • Can anybody tell me if this delay pedal Nova Repeater is true Bypass?

  • @joaobem1 It's not.

  • 9v or 12v?

  • @maskone 12v - and remember all technical specifications areeasy to find at our website using the search field.

    tcelectronic/jens

  • does it do the self oscillation thing that a real analogue delay does?

  • No - TC and Koch are not related. - Just nice amps.

    tcelectronic/jens

  • Tc and koch are not 'related' are they?? Oh yeah I miss the screen

  • TC electronics nova repeater stereo output in bypass mode?

Dont know if youtube posts are searchable by googling but myself i tried everywhere to find this information so i thought id post it here if someone is wondering the same as i do.

Some pedals only use their stereo outputs when engaged and i wanted to know if I can use my pedal to split to multiple amps also when bypassed.

I can CONFIRM that this pedal DO feed both outputs both when engaged and disengaged

    Btw the pedal is awesome!

  • @SONGSTICKS Hello there – Nova Delay has presets and a lot more possibilities for tweaking the sound. Cheers!

    Martin / TC Electronic

  • Hi! I have this delay and love it! But I run into a problem sometimes. For songs 100+ bpm, the song keeps in time great, but once I get below 90 bpm or so, the delay gets off beat badly. I use the tempo tap, and I'm sure as a human I don't tap it in perfectly, but I sit with a metronome and/or drummer and it still gets off beat eventually. Any hints, tips, tricks, or assistance? Thanks a lot!!

  • I had that thing month ago and it suck tone on my Rectifier when it's off!

Now i got the MXR Carbon Copy Delay and it works perfect.

  • Excellent delay, tomorrow I'll try one of this...

  • SOLD!!! give this guy a pay raise!

  • what song at 8.30?

  • Anyone know what guitar that is? The body looks like a Tyler Mongoose, but the headstock doesn't look like a Tyler...

  • maybe I am doing something wrong? I run this into my FX loop. Using the amp distortion, then swtich the the FX loop on, the pedal seems to thin out the sound. Is there a fix to that?

  • What's the difference between the Nova Repeater and the Nova Delay? Thanks.

  • what's the difference between Nova Repeater and Nova delay, thanks.

  • Love that little tribute to For The Love Of God at 9:10

  • Will TC electronics ever make another true analog delay?

  • Does TC electronic have a pedal that has : kill dry, spill over, and presets??

If not, can't they make one?

  • @disturbtheworlds Hiya, No... I’m afraid you’ll have to choose between Presets+Spillover or KillDry+Spillover. If you need all three then I’d suggest buying a Nova Delay and the excellent WetBox from GigRig - Just set the Mix knob on Nova Delay to 100% and use the WetBox to control the amount of wet signal, it’s pretty darn nifty.

  • @disturbtheworlds Could we make one? The short answer is: yes. There are no immediate plans of updating Nova Delay, but you never know what the future might bring. 

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC

  • @tcelectronic Hah, that would be awesome , I guess i'll have to wait a little longer then.. I am looking for the best fit for my Dual rectifier ...

  • Somehow I've never discovered TC Electronic products. My life is now complete.

  • TC Electronic makes dream gear. I would like to get Nova Repeater (or Nova Delay) soon. That's an only digital delay pedal that really convinces me and It's not that expensive as I thought when I've heard it. It's superior to even more expensive delays on the market.

  • can it feedback into oscillation and do all those trippy sounds?

  • @AonangParadise Hiya, No – Nova Repeater was specifically designed to not go into uncontrolled feedback. Cranking the feedback will give you exactly 100% feedback, which gives you an infinite loop without overloading the delay circuit.

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC

  • Amazing guitar player!

  • what's the difference between nova repeat and nova delay? thx

  • is it rue bypass?

  • @ViciousMaximus all tc nova pedals are true bypass pedals

  • this pedal is sooo sweet, i really want it soo bad. it will be mine O.O

  • what is kill dry and spillover?

  • @posiedonpowertrio dry kill means the output is just the echoes, with none of the direct signal. Useful if you're using an amp parallel FX loop that lets you blend the dry signal with the loop anyway. Spillover is whether the last echoes fade away naturally after you switch the effect off, or if they're killed instantly when you switch off.

  • Is that an effects loop

  • Would anyone suggest this over the DD-20?

  • Was this one really used by David Gilmore

  • Dual delay sounds great !

  • Hey, what kind of guitar is that?

  • how long is the delay time on it? thats my biggest thing. i need a long delay time.

  • I bought one of these online. Hopefully getting it today. I love the butt load of features yet the simplicity of the pedal. It's a beautiful thing. I think i may do a demo of it down the road. But for now, i just wait for it then play it till my fingers turn blue

  • just p9cked one of these babys up today and damn it is sweet

the only differnce between this and the delay is there are no presets and the screen showing you the exact milliseconds is not on the repeater

both of the features are somewhat useless in my opinion unlesss you this your the edge

  • infinite repeats, and beyond?

    now that's very clever lol

  • Will I play like you if I buy this pedal? :D:D:D

  • FTLOG!

  • Man does anyone know wot he's running to get those lead tones??

  • Probably the TC Electronic Nova Drive. I have that pedal and it sounds similar to these lead tones. Amazing pedal by the way, the Nova Drive =)

  • I just ordered one of these, can't wait to play with it!

  • There is no display, but you can still set the delay to exactly what you want? How? The example he tells us here is kind of stupid. What if I want 460 ms?

  • You select your range (for example, 20 200 400) and the delay knob lets you choose between those delay times, 7 o clock gives you 20ms, 12 o clock gives you 200ms, etc.

  • @funkatic

well, its easy to get really close, and there are other methods of figuring out what your delay time is.

  • i just bought one!!!!! will let u know how it is

  • how is the tc repeater?lol

  • Please, please, please do one of these videos for the Nova Delay!

  • im not sure if i missed this so im gonna ask u does it modulate on the reverse mode? ( reverse and chorus ? ) thanks, alan

  • @xdux: Yes, it does modulate (chorus/vibrato) any delay type.... reverse, dynamic, tape, analog, studio, pingpong.

  • I want to know what guitar is that. Its a beauty

    anybody know?

  • The guitar is a 'Hansen'. Not sure which model though.

Google 'Hansen Guitars', he makes really fine guitars.

  • Guitar model is B'et Antique

  • What guitar make is that?

  • Nevermind, I see the ND-1 has a bit more awesomeness to it.

(as well as some extra features.)

  • That is one extremely nice tele.

Also, isn't this(except for the screen) exactly the same as the ND-1?

  • Is it the same delay as the TC 2290?

  • Well, I dont really know but I seriously doubt it

  • I suspect they're the same pedal

  • lol

  • There must be a "is this good for u2?" comment on every delay pedal video on youtube.

  • sad but true, man. though now it seems any delay pedal is good for u2, kind of a pointless question when you think about it.

  • Is this good for u2?

  • I must have one of these

  • great review and great pedal!

  • Sounds great. Can it do this self-oscillation stuff a real analog delay can do? (If you don't know what I'm talking about - just listen to Judas Priest - Invader)

  • Comment removed

  • Two downgrades are that there is no LCD screen and you can't store presets. Definitely like the new modulation control though and the tone and spillover options. I still prefer the Nova Delay though.

  • So... that price range would be...??? I'm really looking forward to buying the Nova Repeata

  • $170. really good price, if you ask me.

  • they go for around €150

  • at 3:34, there is some gain for the lead setting, is it from the nova drive ?

  • Great pedal! I want one!

  • TC Nova Drive!!!!!

  • the flashing light and the fact it says it emulates analog well doesn't do it for you?

  • Great review! Send us more TC! Great company!

  • Sounds great.

  • Need it!

  • I must say that everything that TC makes is 100 % TOP Class.

The question is more if it fits your personality. I personaly DIG TC Electronics!

  • want!
