he was born and raised in Sweden and if you watch some of his early acting parts (in english shows/movies at least) he has an accent, but then he went to a dialect coach to get rid of it and viola! sounds american...

In sweden we learn english very early in school...and we always just subtitle the movies and tv-shows, the most younger people over here talks english with very little accent.

WE DON`T sound like alot of american people think we do..like russians or something XD

@SerenViv I think he moved to the US in his 20's and like most actors trying to make it in USA; they have accent coach who helps them to sound more American. I hear some hint of a Swedish accent when it comes to a few, long words, otherwise he's flawless! I'm Swedish myself.

@barbie2ification He probably has one of or even the best American accent of any non-British foreigner I've heard. To be able to carry on casual, unscripted conversations still in the accent is particularly impressive. If I really listen closely some of his words sound slightly off, but that has to do with his southern accent more than anything (which is difficult for many American actors to nail). He could easily pass as someone who grew up in the states.
