  • What level is this?

  • @hl888 rcm 8

  • Splendid!

  • I heard this in The Quiet, simply beautiful. I wish I could learn it but I only started piano a year ago... :( although I can already play Moonlight Sonata, maybe I have a chance!

  • @luv2bcrazy563 Moonlight Sonata is way harder. Especially the third movement

  • @mattymoo3838 There is not enough room here to explain this. Usually a concert pianist has won competitions such as Van Cliburn's competition (in the United States).

  • @mattymoo3838 no its not

  • @luv2bcrazy563 I have been playing for a year and a half, coming up to 2 years. I learn very quick since I am at a grade 8 level. I am playing this for my RCM 8 Test soon. I learned beethovens moonlight sonata mvt1 right when I started piano. Take it from me, this song is easily twice as hard as moonlight mvt 1. But if you really work on it you might be able to!

    good luck

  • @Nesoja I am 19 and i have been playing for 10 months now...I started with moonlight as well..I do not know how to read notes though...I am currently working on op.9 no.2 and just finished nocturne no.20 and waltz op. 69 no.2..The whole thing with the piano is to be passionate about it...All the rest will occur...

  • @lorditachijr

Could you please explain what you mean by "grade"? How many grades are there for piano? If grade 1 is somebody just starting, then what grade would a concert pianist be? Thanks

  • @LittleLulubee I suppose it depends on the music school you attend. I am studying with the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto that was founded over a century ago. They have a grade program from level (they no longer call them grades). Grade 1 to 10. Piano students do not generaly begin with their level 1 course. They study books by teachers such as Leila Fletcher, John Thompson, John Bastien to name a few. The concert pianist level would minimum level 10 and top marks necessary.

  • it's of course very good, but it could still be better...

and i miss the staccati :D

  • cool

  • beethovens music lets me feel GOD and His peace

    its truly heaven music :)

  • i like this... especially when elisha cuthbert and camilla belle play it in "The Quiet"... and all the other compositions of beethoven.. i love them all..

  • je l'adore !!!

Je suis entrain de l'apprendre au piano, et je suis préssée de bien la savoir ^^

  • haha! so did I! I've seen it like 10 times and still LOVE it! and dussekfan, I'm not sure what you mean by Grade 8. People learn by different methods. I've only ever known beginner, intermediate, and advanced. I can tell you this though. If I can do it, you can do it! I've got really small hands and super short fingers lol but I have defied evolution and taught myself to play the piano! I gave this piece a try at school the last time I watched "The Quiet" about a year ago I guess. :)

  • hehe I looked this up as well after watching "The Quiet". :)

  • I Love this one. It's too hard though, Is it over grade 8?

  • It's grade 5 or 6, I'm learning this and even though it may not be that easy, it's beethoven's easiest sonata ]: he composed this with educational purposes.

  • oh..in RCM?? euuh,,,

  • I think most people who would play it in a performance or festival would probably play it somewhere in the range of grades 7-9. The hardest part for me when I learned it was keeping the left hand quiet enough in 2nd theme.

  • this isn't him. its alfred brendel.

  • thanks

  • who played it?

  • The movie was The Quiet and the girl, Dot played it on the piano. You should check it out. It's a great movie.

  • what movie?

  • Very well played!

  • きれいですね!

    Beethoven、昔から好きです!

    特に、sonata op49の第1楽章が

    好きです!

    この曲が最近弾けるようになったので、

    幸せです!

  • i love the beginning of the song :D

  • love this song nice choice really feeling it

  • is this the second movement? I see that is the "andante" section, but I don't know what which ones are what movements.

  • it is the first movement^^

  • I love this sonata, ever since I heard it in the movie "The Quiet".

  • I saw that movie and that's actually how I came to love this sonata too. The Quiet was an excellent movie. :)

  • That's how a felt in love with that sonata too! I love the movie...

"People always talk about the quiet before the storm, but no one talks about the quiet after..."

  • Exactly! And I also liked when she talked about being cut into halves and smaller pieces as more people entered the room. That movie was really good.

  • Oh yes, I love this part too! U read my thoughts!

"All I wanted was to be invisible. When I was in a room with another person, I felt like I was only half there. When I was in a room with too other people, I felt like a third of myself. When I was in a room with three other people, I felt like a quarter of myself. And when I was in a room with so many people... I felt like nobody."

I just love it... and btw I'm not copying this from somewhere, I know it by heart!

  • Is this a professional recording?

  • YES

  • did you play this?!

  • really? i thought this was someone else

  • very well done, two thumbs up!

  • You're extremely talented....

    And I'm extremely jealous....
