Interesting point about the marketing point of view on things. From my view it just seemed irritating as a viewer, and didn't give the impression that the poster was thinking about the end user experience. I always put ads on my awesome videos, but not on the tiny ones or ones that were no work to make. Gioggity.
@duhmez It's definitely got the element of "irritating to the viewer", but the perspective I showed is (to me) the more glaring issue, because it defeats the purpose of the marketing material to begin with. Thanks for the comment. :)
@duhmez It's an interesting topic for me, because as I said I work in internet marketing and so I think about these kinds of things in general. I guess, though, that a lot of people simply feel that "ads suck" and there's not much more depth to the topic.
@duhmez I watch all my Youtube videos on my WDTV Live HD media player on my television, and through no fault of my own, it is incapable of showing ads. I wish it could though because I wuld like to help support the channels I do watch.
@Noyjeetut Not only companies, but they can simply allow the community to take their game and make something of it. Minecraft was perfect for that, and I get the feeling games where users build their own worlds that are unique will continue to have popularity on youtube. Skyrim has a similar element to it, which is why I feel it's doing quite well on youtube as well.
I really don't think youtubers have any affect on video game sales especially when it comes to larger titles. They would like to think that they do, but in all honesty we don't because too be honest out of all the people that's on youtube we're lucky if we contribute maybe 5% to sales and that's being generous especially for popular titles. The only way we may contribute to gaming sales is if specific youtubers promote certain games that may not appeal to a lot of people.
@TheCompletionist Well, as I said in the video, Minecraft is definitely an example of a game that wouldn't have done as well if it weren't for youtube. MW3 might be a bit of a stretch, but I do get the feeling that part of the reason it's remaining so popular is that some of the biggest youtube channels are pretty much dedicated to it, and because of that it has become somewhat of a social media hub for gaming.
I have that poster in behind you, Death's End or Aquarius Collection. Don't have it hanging on my walls anymore, but it's quite nostalgic to see it again on someones wall.
@a3HeadedMonkey lol, yeah, potentially! I'm going to be releasing a vid with her in a few days in response to alphaomegasin's "most metal video games" video. :)

Ya, youtube has been glitchy as shit. Good insight on how youtube and companies can promote games.

@omarcostaranta Definitely. Seananners is quite a big part of the reason Minecraft became as popular as it has.
