I have a NextGen 1000 i bought a month ago, i love it... i love the auto voltage feature and being able to run both bulbs is a huge plus also. So far so good.
just to clear things up.. I was at my local shop and saw they had the new lumatek 400/600 switchables. They run mh/hps too, not that I care or am trying to take sides. I was surprised when I saw them is all. You guys should get a life.
hey to all this is my question i will be running a growlab tent i plan on using 3x600s or 2x1000..i like both ballast how do ya pick money is is not the prob i want the safest and most efficent..
@cowboylogic101 Actually I deleted it by mistake, so post your comment again. Do you own Lumatek? Why do you care? I never even judged the NEXTGEN to the Lumatek so I don't know what crawled up your ASS!
the Lumatek will NOT run a 400 an 600 in the same Ballast so, I do not know what you are trying to say. The truth of the matter is there is VERY little difference in ANY Ballast, So once again you are showing your ignorance.
@cowboylogic101 so you have NO videos or pictures I bet you do not even have a LUMATEK or a gerden for that matter. Step up and lets see what you can do besides BS!
This is an example of the dumb people writing comments here and probably on the boards you read.
Nothing to say, No information , nothing to back up this dumb comment.
People be careful where you get your advice.
There is noting wrong with Lumatek Ballast but the NEXTGEN is more versatile, Smaller, Cooler running, better performing ballast. Pair this up with some SunPulse Bulbs and your lighting will be PRIMO. Like your crops!
I have nothing against Lumatek ballasts I really like their Dual Voltage Dual 600W.
What is more versatile about the NEXTGEN is the 400/600 which really gives you great flexibility in lighting as you can use any number of bulbs or wattage's to fit your needs.
The open design of the NEXTGEN means they can be repaired at a later time if they need to unlike the sealed ballast like Lumatek or Galaxy. By the way they are sealed so no one can look inside and reverse engineer the unit.
Yeah, I think this is the next ballast I buy, along with those 1000 watt bulbs that are 600 watt MH & 400 watt HPS all in one. Seems like a killer combo for under $500. . . how could you beat it?

I much prefer magnetic ballasts.

Lumatek 600 switchable. 360/400/600/superlumen quieter and uses less power. Going to erase this comment also?

And I do own a couple Lumateks. Nothing against Nextgen, but the fact still remains Lumatek is the best ballast on the market.

@advancedgarden
I'm glad you think that way. *AHEM*(asswipe)

the nextgen ballast is from the company that made future brite i hope you fire insurance is paid up.
jasonbedell420 3 years ago
Wrong. Nextgen is made by C.A.P., the same company that makes alot of the environmental controllers you see in hydro shops.
Future Brite is made by another company, I forget the name, but it's not by CAP.
